Great observation about how Jeong Jeong's attitude toward fire is colored by trauma. The last couple of episodes and this one have done a great job at showing how Sokka is very smart... and also a dumbass. Which is so real. Sokka has climbed my ranking of favorite Avatar characters since I first watched it over a decade ago.

2024-09-03 12:20:48 +0000 UTCI'm glad to read your mum is okay. :) And thank you for handing in episode 16 today. <3 I really, really like this one - especially, if combined with another episode of season 3 - because it highlights that all elements can be destructive. Here, they focus on fire because it's the one that most people will think of first when it comes to possible dangers of the four elements. (I guess nobody walks through their life without getting lightly burned (when cooking, e.g.).) However, in the end it comes down to control. All elements can become destructive when used without control. And, yes, we very much enjoy your reactions to Avatar. :)

Hope everything's ok with your mum. :) I love this episode - it's a great one because of everything you said, but also because it touches on your question about the comparative 'strength' of each elements. Here it offers a different, third perspective on firebending from what we've seen so far with the Gaang and Zuko/Iroh... It's a recurring theme that will continue to be explored.
