They never confirmed it in the series, but Mae Whitman (voice of Katara) confirmed on the DVD extras that Aang and Katara kissed in this episode!!

2024-09-18 20:47:48 +0000 UTCAir 'Nation' is actually made up of air nomads, as a community they are nomadic people and don't technically have an official Tribe, Kingdom, or Nation like the other 3 elemental clans. Whenever we see Aang's flashbacks or have info on how airbenders or the monks live, you will notice hints of this nomadic lifestyle. P.S. they didn't kiss! ^v^
