Something about giving a person a choice of a selection is an ever clever way to get something untoward eventually chosen (even though we aren’t told who picks them, my mind steers towards Kyle for the thrill!) Had it been just the one pair there may have been a tantrum pushback! Yet a bit of ‘self ownership’ through choice garners the illusion of control in this situation on Kyle’s part! It reflects an intriguing, almost ‘feigned’ strength of power in his decisions that he is able to pick himself. It enables a slight vantage point of self belief for a minuscule of moments. It’s like she’s allowing him to test the waters of his own makings. I find it devilishly inspired. Interestingly he could have picked the less revealing ones too, but didn’t! Says more about him in fact and his inner desires. I’m glad she thought ahead and did this! It makes turning down the idea near enough impossible. It’s, after all like picking out your favourite candy at the store. You just won’t say no ;)
