I hear you—I know that passwords are a hassle- they are an even BIGGER hassle to me- I have so much more work to do because of them and I’m truly sorry for the inconvenience that it puts you in, when you just want to see some dirty comix.
Right now, they’re our only defense against pirate sites scraping our work. While you may not care about this, I don't think the majority of you would like to see me quit the site all together, which I was on the brink of doing last month.
So here's some positive news--Since adding password protection, we’ve grown from under 40 to 75 paying patrons, which is vital for keeping our site alive.
Each post costs an average $200 (including taxes, creation, or platform fees from Apple and Patreon), with at least 40 posts a month. Without this exclusivity, we can’t sustain the site—because hardly anyone pays for erotic comix if there are free options for our work elsewhere.
I’m exploring new solutions, like our “Mostly Black College” Crowdfundr campaign, where we can post freely on all platforms once funding goals are met--this would mean that we wouldn't have to care about piracy, because the financial goals are met for our artist contracts.
This could be a game-changer for all our comix moving forward!

Hey there, thank you for the thoughtful feedback. I wonder what models you are looking at in terms of the ones you say are thriving that are modeled like our site. Our overhead is large because of the size and complexity of what we put out. Since the new measures have went up our numbers are increasing, so it has been working. Everyone is an advocate for lowering the rate, but I just don't think the niche market can sustain it. There are just not that many people that want this specific type of content. Currently we have 4000 FREE members, most of which that wouldn't pay at all anyway, they are just here to see when we drop stuff to go to other avenues to see. Those people have no obligation to pay and no incentive to do so. If I did a $5 tier like I did in the beginning, I believe I would be in a much worse situation. because our die hard fans understand just how special and unique are art is and see the time and effort that goes into it. They are true patrons. I had a 5 dollar tip jar for a long time here and NO ONE put money in. There just isn't enough people, so we do what we have to. So far it's stopped the automized scraping of our site by prirate software. And our numbers are back to increasing. I hope that it turns the ship around and I will see more increases in the next few months. This month with are running neck in neck with our financial output. I am hopeful. Thanks so much for your suggestion. I spend all the time thinking of how to keep my art friends employed. I don't want to say goodbye to their artistic firendships and see the AI world take over which is the inevitability.

To me it seems like your goal is “preventing piracy” when I wonder if “increasing revenue” is a better goal. I know it’s very easy to see piracy as taking food off of your table, but many other accounts have managed to live with piracy and in fact thrive under it, seeing it as potentially valuable promotion. For example, 4000 people paying $3/month would net you a lot more than 100 people spending $50. And again, I know piracy is frustrating! I hate it too. And maybe our fetish isn’t big enough to get thousands of people Paying smaller amounts, but ai just wonder if you’ve considered all the angles, because I see a lot of people successfully using that model. My 2 cents! Love your work and appreciate this space very much!
