UPDATE: Thank you for the note about the 3minute mark random pause. Something must have glitched in the export. Thankfully, I saved the XML files and all the raws, so we'll be able to fix that for the final. Just know it was a dramatic zoom in to his face. No key info missed in the few seconds, but i'll make sure it re-exports properly!

2025-09-16 19:05:43 +0000 UTCI dread re-reading this book as I've fallen behind. Currently into book 7, 'A CROWN OF SWORDS'. So happy you were to reduce this book to such a short review Daniel. It will help me see it through. What has amazed me throughout the entire series is the LACK OF COMMUNICATION. I'd have expected the Aes Sedai creating some sort of communication device during the Age of Legends, but not one the Chosen has even mentioned the lack!

When you’re listing Mat’s companions, you mention Bashere when I think you meant Juilin Sandar? Love your description of Tuon’s smartness/baldness XD I do like how Robert formed the relationship with Mat and Tuon, as shitty as a lot of Tuon’s views are, I enjoyed her and Mat. I feel like the Faile-Shaido-Perrin storyline could have been really good, if it hadn’t dragged for so many books. I also really enjoy how he shows the breakdown between old alliances and new in terms of opinions on Rand. Egwene doesn’t like people backing the literal Chosen One more than her. I still find Path of Daggers the worst slog book for me, but this is probably second worst. But I still enjoyed this one more than book 12.
