Page 1 Flats
Added 2020-08-14 18:00:03 +0000 UTCThis page took me a pretty long time to set up. Normally flats and inks take me about a day to so but this was more of a 2-3 day affair. Par for the course, though. The first page always takes a bit longer than the rest because I'm figuring out color direction. Pretty much any time I change a scene to somewhere else it takes me a ton of time to figure out how I want to color it. Every other page after is usually a little more streamline.
The small panels at the bottom were actually the trickiest even though in the end they will be mostly covered with text. Whoops. I referenced a particular college campus I used to live near for the outdoor hallway.
I also threw in some early stages right after the inks in case people were interested. Originally the bottom panels were going to be at dusk but I wanted to add in the blue so the whole page wouldn't just be red/orange.
