That jumpscare hit hard 😭 I wasn’t even ready. I legit thought someone actually broke into my place for a second lol.
Also, this episode reminds of Kaneki’s transformation in Season 1. Back then, Kaneki accepted Rize (after their confrontation) and became the white-haired ghoul. This time, Haise faces little Kaneki and starts to confront his true identity as Kaneki (the person he was before everything changed). Both transformations were triggered by torture; one was about him accepting his ghoul side, and the other is about reclaiming his true identity as Kaneki.
Thought this was a great comparison between the two scenes.

I have the full box set of the Tokyo ghoul manga and I highly recommend it. It’s such beautiful art work and storyline is amazing.!!
