You probably noticed, but I wanted to point out at 15:33 Obito looks at Itachi and says “You’re…nevermind”. He noticed Itachi crying and was going to mention it but stops himself. Obito understands how he feels and even feels bad. He then teleports away out of respect to let Itachi cry alone. On top of that Itachi put his mask on to hide his tears from Obito. I always find that scene so interesting between my 2 favorite characters 😭 Also after Itachi defeats the 4th mizukage jinjuriki (Yagura) here, he takes him to Obito. Obito then uses Yagura as a puppet for years, controlling the Mist village behind the scenes. This is shown in Kisame’s backstory when he meets Obito, who is right behind the 4th mizukage controlling him. Then Obito takes off his mask and Kisame joins him.

2025-10-22 20:25:50 +0000 UTCThey changed it in the anime for some reason to make Tobi the one who killed that girl Izumi but her and Itachi actually did end up being together in their teenage years and when Itachi killed the clan she was the first one he killed (not obito) because he knew that would be the hardest part so if he could do that he could do the rest of it too. BUT how he killed Izumi was he used his genjutsu to let her live out an entire 70 some year lifetime with him where they got married and had kids and loved each other and grew old together and died of old age so when the genjutsu ended she died peacefully in real life as well. You should read the light novels if you want more of this story the anime does a pretty good job adapting it but they left a lot out and changed things too.
