An added bonus getting Tien and Lan for this horror classic. I loved the soda costumes Hella "dreamed" up. Next horror movie must be "Poltergeist" for the Halloween theme. It revolves around a modern-day family and it's scary as hell. And directed by none other than Steven Spielberg.

If you girls want to watch something that scary and have comedy with it like the Ghostbusters movies I recommend Evil Dead and Army of Darkness. Maybe even watch movies that make fun of horror movies watch Scary Movie 1 though 5. As for regular horror movies the two IT movies

Robert Englund who plays Freddy, play him again for 8 or 9 movies in total. There is also a remake of this from 2010, the story is different in some places.

This is actually where the English word “nightmare” comes from: originally night-mare literally meant “night demon” (the mare being the creature). Over time, the meaning shifted from “the being” to “the bad dream” itself.

I wonder if in vietnam they also have some kind of demon or spirit explaining nightmares and paralysis.

Great reaction. Whenever I know I'm dreaming, I try to take control of it. Once I take control of my dream, I usually wake up automatically. Hopefully you watch the rest of the Nightmare on elm Street(Freddy Krueger) franchise and possibly the "Friday the 13th" franchise too and let us know which franchise you like better 😊

The spooky season is finally starting. I love your cosplays ladies, it's so nice to see the whole original gang together again.🙂
I remember when I was 12 I secretly sneaked out of bed at night and watched this movie on TV.
Of course I was really scared by the movie, especially the nursery rhyme stuck in my head for days.
Today the movie doesn't seem as scary anymore. But it still has a good atmosphere and the special effects are pretty good too.
I'm not the biggest fan of slasher movies, I prefer the more paranormal themed movies.
But when it comes to slashers, Freddy Krueger is my favorite villain. He's not as silent as most of his famous colleagues like Jason, Michael or Leatherface and he gets some really funny one-liners in later movies.
Plus the Nightmare on Elm Street movies are a good combination of slasher and paranormal movie.
That was an awesome reaction ladies, please do more collaborations in the future.💜

Try some werewolf movies. Like Silver Bullet, and An American Werewolf in London. No CGI in these ones. Just practical effects. Also try Fright Night, the original.

Slither..... now there's a sci-fi gory zombie alien movie . Near Dark was a great movie. It came out the same time I think as The Lost Boys, which topped Near Dark at the movies.

If you want to find out what happened to Nancy at the end (yes it's supposed to be ambiguous) watch Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors, it's my favorite of the films and acts as a direct sequel to this one, if you have to watch one sequel watch that one, it's really good!

Wow this reaction was incredible. This story is inspired by a real life story from Asian refugees in America that were suffering from nightmares and passing away. It was great seeing a reaction that knows nothing about Freddy Krueger. I think this movie is a good one for people that aren't really into horror movies. It has lots of scares but also some goofy Home Alone stuff. The Halloween costumes were great too lol.
I hope you ladies do a Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1976 watch. It's the inspiration for all these 80s slashers flicks like this movie, Friday 13th, and Halloween. It's not really gory like it sounds.
These movies are always fun since they get really over the top with Freddy and his humor. Also hearing a "You shall not pass" from Tien was funny. She is now a true Lord of the Rings fan. 😁

A spooky season horror flick before October?! Hell Yeah!! Movie collab with the Munchies and the Angels?! Double Hell Yeah!!
I doubt you remember too much from Scream, but there are many references in that movie to this one.
The deputy sheriff in Nightmare is the sheriff in Scream.
The half shirt Tatum wears in Scream is a direct reference to Depp's half shirt in this movie.
Tatum says "this isn't a Wes Carpenter movie" in Scream which is a reference to Wes Craven and John Carpenter who created Nightmare (and many others) and Halloween (and many others).
The janitor in Scream is wearing Freddy's red and green striped sweater.
I am pretty sure someone mentions Freddy Krueger's name during the movie too.
There are probably more but these are the ones that stand out to me from memory.
Great reaction!!

2025-09-24 19:55:42 +0000 UTC
I really enjoyed this double-feature. It works well as a pair of movies because both Freddy and Chucky love to run their mouths as they kill people.
NOES: There are 9 A Nightmare on Elm Street movies. Wes Craven, who you know from the Scream movies directs the first one. Freddy Krueger even has a brief cameo in the first Scream movie. I really do not suggest you watch the direct sequel to this film but I do suggest you watch the third movie A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987)
Freddy is played by Robert Englund and he is beloved by horror fans for his performance.
They tried to reboot the series in 2010 with some great actors but it failed, and there hasn’t been a Nightmare-movie since. I do know the rights are owned by the estate of Wes Craven, and there have been attempts to resurrect Freddy, but so far nothing has come of it.
CHUCKY: There are eight Chucky movies and three seasons of a TV Show. As you noticed, Tom Holland directed the first movie. He also directed another great 80s horror film: FRIGHT NIGHT. The Chucky series is rare because one guy - DON MANCINI - has written all of the movies and is the main writer on the TV show.
For other killer doll movies, you should check out M3GAN which is more of a science-fiction take and THE CONJURING which is where Annabelle first shows up.
Okay, here’s a list of what I would consider essential 80s horror movies that you haven’t watched on the channel.
FRIDAY THE 13TH (1980) Slasher movie, and a lot of the “rules” from Scream start with this film.
EVIL DEAD 1981 (supernatural) I mean, watch all of the Evil Dead movies. The reboot from 2013 is a great film.
POLTERGEST 1982. (supernatural) directed by Tobe Hooper and produced by Stephen Spielberg
FRIGHT NIGHT 1985 (Vampire)
RE-ANIMATOR (1985) Gory, Campy.
THE FLY (1986) You haven’t done any Cronenberg movies and this is one of his best. Also stars Jeff Goldblum from the Jurassic Park films.
HELLRAISER (1987) This is directed by Clive Barker. Clive Barker is like Stephen King, but weirder.
THE LOST BOYS (1987) the title to this one is a reference to Peter Pan. The Lost Boys are the kids you don’t grow up in the Peter Pan story, but this time it’s vampires.

When I was 22 years old in 1985, I had the worst nightmares of my life for 5 or 6 days straight. The dreams were just blackness and body parts every time until the last one that started with an axe floating in blackness in front of me then it came towards me and then it was body parts again. Each day I woke up soaking in sweat and rolling back and forth across my bed. That last day is when there was an 8.0 earthquake in Mexico city. I live in Texas but I have distant relatives in Mexico.
