The story was written under nasu's supervision, so characters being "off" is still nasu's fault. But yea, fsn saber was far more complex than "muh noble knight"

God knows why considering they had the original story as reference. In any case, the character that suffers the most from being written by a different author is Saber. So take her character in Zero with a grain of salt If you feel there are discrepancies between the Saber you know from FSN and the Saber portrayed in Zero, is because Zero is written by a different author For example, Saber falling for Lancers trap does not make any sense considering her experience as a warrior and her Instincts. The show dumbed her down to nerf her. Since she can not use her thumb, her fighting skills will be reduced While i do not mind the idea, I would have liked for it to be done without dumbing her down

2025-10-20 08:54:32 +0000 UTCSo Lancer does have the ability to charm women BUT the Saber class has "Magic Resistance" as a class skill, Artoria in particularly has exceedingly high magic resistance which is A rank for her. In Fate servants have entire profiles that have their skills and abilities explained like video game, we just dont see them in the anime although they do mention stats and skills several times. In HF they mention Cu's "Protection from Arrows" as well which is one of his personal skills.
