Nyssa was born into a small and simple island tribe that worshiped the water god Tydros. A few years after Nyssa had come of age, her village was raided and its people forced to flee in small fishing boats. Only Nyssa and a few others survived. On the mainland, Nyssa found life difficult and had to work with criminals to earn money. This got a bounty put on her. A bounty that was collected by Drakses, a twisted, high-ranking arena fighter with questionable dark abilities. Drakses tortured Nyssa before turning her in. He developed a fascination and used his influence to arrange “visits” with her in prison. Nyssa had to violently break out to escape him but was tracked down by another bounty hunter… Akumi. Even though Akumi really needed the money, she let Nyssa go and allowed her to escape Drakses. Nyssa returned to the ocean and got a job on a pirate ship where nobody asked questions, working with some of the same pirates that raided her village. When she ran into Akumi again and found out Drakses was dead, it was an easy decision to join her.
