Patreon Changes, July 2024

Hi all! It’s finally time to talk about the changes coming to the Patreon!! 

Most of these are related to making content more streamlined for everybody, giving Patrons more say in what audios get made, and bringing back recurring characters in audios on a more consistent basis! I think you'll like these a lot, guys.

Let’s dive in!

Audios are now going to have a recurring cast of characters! Most of who you’ve seen before (Black Pearl, the dom prey [& very occasionally pred!]…Opal, the unwilling prey…Ferrus, my sona and cruel pred…) but others are ones I’ve wanted to do things with for a while & whom I’m finally planning to use! And you can see the full database of audio characters right here.

Now, do any characters in particular catch your eye, make you say “wow, wish I could see an audio coming up with that character?” Well you’re in luck, because the next Patreon change is related to voting!

In the past, I let Patrons vote on how an audio plot goes, & which binaural audio gets made. That’s not changing—you folks are just getting another poll type too! At the end of each month, beginning this month, Patrons get to vote on which characters appear in next month's audios, & higher tiers have more voting power too! It’ll go like this:

$6.90 tier and up gets one vote

$9.60 tier votes count for x2

$26.69 tier votes count for x5

Again, here’s a link to a database of the characters. If there’s someone you don’t see here from an audio you really enjoyed that you think should be added to this list, comment & tell me! :D

Speaking of the $26.69 tier, that tier is changing. You guys will be getting binaural audio WIPs/drafts/behind-the-scenes post instead of just voting. “But that’s what the Demigod & Divine tiers used to get!” Yep, that’s because those tiers, as well as the $2 tip tier, are all getting removed. As of now, they are already unpublished, i.e those pledged can still access the benefits but no new Patrons can join. 

I mentioned streamlining things, & part of that is removing some tiers to simplify my Patreon a bit. Namely the more expensive ones with commission options. $16.90 & up still have commission options but they're a bit more limited.

And again, if you were subbed to those tiers, unpublishing them does NOT remove your pledge nor your benefits; it only prevents new folks from joining. You can still access those benefits & get those [now unavailable for new Patrons] comm options; just follow the comm guidelines in the pinned welcome post.

On the subject of the $2 tier getting removed, the weekday improvs are also getting removed. I put those on pause in May to figure out if they’re sustainable, & yeah, I’m no longer doing those 30-second weekday improvs. And so we're clear, the unscheduled long-form improvs for the $13.33 tier and up are staying--those aren't going anywhere.

So, to recap:

- I'm going to solidify a recurring cast of characters for audios, with a proper character introduction page to come

- every month, you all will get to vote on which characters appear in audios for the following month! Higher tiers have more voting power.

- certain tiers are getting removed to simplify the Patreon, but are still accessible to those currently pledged to those tiers. Weekday improvs (~30 seconds) are ending, and unscheduled longform improvs (~5-10 minutes) aren't going anywhere.

- $26.69 is now the highest tier & will have access to binaural audio behind-the-scenes posts of all types
