Might Change How We Do Things Around Here

Hi folks! Just a little post to say that I'm considering making some changes as to how I post my content. Namely, I've been releasing weekly audios + an additional thing at the end of the month every month (except break periods) for over 2 years now, & I'm considering giving that a rehaul.

The first reason I'm considering this is, to be blunt, my content was leaked by a Patron this month. On 2 different occasions throughout August. It was really quite something to come back to release an audio after being sick for a week, only to see the bullshit someone had been up to while I'd been ill yet feeling awful about being a few days behind on a weekly audio. It honestly hurt, to be working so hard on my content while sick, only to discover all that.

Now, I already narrowed down who it is (including the tier they're subscribed to) & am taking steps to ban them; access passwords were changed after each incident as well, as a precaution. But it all still got me thinking that, If I'm diligently releasing a new thing every single week, including a public comm at the start of the month for members & non-members alike, but someone still decides to do this? Then perhaps sticking to such a stringent schedule isn't the right move going forward.

The second reason is related to Patreon changes toward subscription billing. For so long, Patreon has had billing on the 1st day of the month, & thus creators (including myself) have built their Patreon around releasing things in monthly blocks to accommodate that billing system. Now that they're doing subscription billing, we're all thrown for a loop, since monthly blocks don't quite work when everyone's billing date is a different day.

I've been resistant towards subscription billing for this reason. But I honestly think it'll be better to lean into it, & rehaul when I make content to accommodate it. I still won't allow ya'll to purchase on the iOS app if I can help it though. Like seriously, fuck those fees man.

I'll be taking the first week of September to consider how I'd like to move forward. And to be clear, I'm not going to stop making content (& if there's a character you want to see in a new audio please do vote in the September polls I posted recently <3). I'm just trying to figure out the best way to make content in light of all of this. Additionally, I'm also considering releasing a wider variety of content (mainly writing, perhaps art as well), and will be giving this too a good think next week.
