Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

It’s good writing to get people to be fearful of what Mark is capable of but to this point in the story I don’t think he’s done anything to justify Cecil’s actions against him. He’s had a lot of reasons to be mad at Cecil and it’s unrealistic to expect a teenager to not get angry just because other people might be afraid of him. I just don’t think Mark has done anything to make people be that afraid of him and the people that are afraid of him are judging him off of what he’s capable of more than what he’s actually done.

Thomas Brown

tldr: I think they’re both in the wrong but there are more reasons to be cautious with a half-Viltrumite than to not.

Jonny Rey

I get the argument that you don’t wanna piss off/betray your best defense against the upcoming invasion but that’s where my issue with Mark lies, people feel the need to tip-toe around him. They’re not as certain that he will choose to defend humanity as people would be for a character like Superman, the show is telling us he needs to be handled carefully and that’s a flaw of his imo. I would be just as scared as Cecil if I were around Mark while he’s raging like that & we just spent months making him even stronger. Cecil would be stupid not to have something in place after everything that went down with Omni-Man and seeing Mark lose control more than once. Mark has had Cecil in a chokehold what like 3 times now? How many times does it take to justify wanting to defend yourself? Mark should also know better after learning every other version of him across the multiverse is evil, this is also a world where mind control is possible. Whose to stop someone from controlling Mark to do awful things? and then humanity is fucked.

Jonny Rey

The sins of the father aren’t the sins of the son. Cecil does a bunch of evil messed up things and justifies it by telling himself it’s for the overall good. He fears anything he can’t control and his actions trying to control everything cause as many problems as he fixes I would argue. He knows Mark is humanities best hope against the Viltrumites but still betrays his trust because he fears him even though Mark has only ever tried to help everyone on earth.

Thomas Brown

A lot of people are surprisingly split online about the Mark vs Cecil situation, but I totally agree with Spartan. Mark exhibited some pretty troubling behaviors especially in episode 2. Dude needs to learn to control his anger more and get some perspective that the last Viltrumite Cecil worked with turned out to be a homicidal maniac that killed thousands of innocents, and Mark just so happens to be that guys son. It makes sense for humans to have some kind of contingency plan in case Mark were ever mind controlled or went rogue or lost his desire to defend humanity, the same way they would have plans for Superman or Homelander in other comic series. Dude is the strongest being on the planet, without the implant or the reanimen humanity would basically be fucked if Mark ever lost his way or someone uses Marks family as leverage to turn him bad. I get why he was pissed at Cecil but he has to think more logically about it especially knowing every other version of him across the multiverse turned out to be evil.

Jonny Rey

This season is gonna shape up Mark big time. The blue suit is a major moment in the comics
