Omake writer contest (Gamer Night)
Added 2018-08-17 13:42:24 +0000 UTCHey everyone. I pitched the idea of a contest over at Questionable Questing with the promise of a monetary reward. Three people have answered to the call.
This was the prompt of the contest:
Shirou gets transfered to Rin's high school and gets familiar with one of the Homurahara trio. Get your pick between Kaede Makidera, Kane Himuro or Yukika Saegusa. The smut is important but so is the build up to it.
PRO TIP: whichever girl you pick, the other two will be the subject of subsequent pieces. You CANNOT submit a piece for all three. The deadline is August 15th
The three contestants are:
The winner gets $100 and a job for one piece of at least 5K words per month.
What I ask of you guys is to pick the winner, with the knowledge that the next two pieces to be commissioned will be about the other two girls that haven't been chosen for this contest.

PS: There will be a similar contest for The Fall after this one.

IchaIchaSennin, at some point will we be getting an overview of what his skills and abilities have reached at this point? For some of them we've seen numbers, but not effects (the last description of what Cooking did was back at level 15), and some others haven't been mentioned to have raised at all since they first appeared (despite them obviously having done so and that we know are often used). It would also be nice to see a list of what all he's earned and what the Reputation levels are presently at. Also, do some skills not provide an additional bonus at level 100? Pain Tolerance unlocked Die Hard, but maxing out the Busujima style tree didn't unlock anything new. And since he's probably never going to max it out... what would a 100 in Swimming give?

Simply put he had unexpected family visit that showed up like the 3rd of the contest all the way to the late in the 13th. He quite literally didn't have any time to familiarize himself with the material as he was forced to play chaperone/host. He quite literally wrote everything last minute on the last day. Just a unfortunate turn of events that totally derailed him. Well it is what it is, he really only took up contest because I asked him to in the first place and more as a favor to me as we are friends. I also tried to round up a bunch of other writers like Kickberry, SinnersQuill, Jordino and so on but in the end they all turned it down either because to busy irl, they didn't like the girls being used, Shirou's age being to young, and other reasons of that nature. They are all still interested in The Fall contest both because the content seems much more interesting and themes more to their tastes. I expect the contest to be far more competitive than this one. Also as far as your doing, well your pretty much winning by a complete and total landslide at the moment with Azure being in second place and Mizzet being in 3rd. So congrats unless there is some sort of epic reversal your pretty much the champ of this writing contest.

I also think Azure did the best job on the smut scenes (although I think that his/her(?) depiction of Shirou was quite... cavalier... about sex with people he'd known for less than a day, considering how seriously he's taken it up to this point. I also wasn't too fond of him/her putting up Shirou's (wrong) Gamer stats up, much less inventing an ability that big of a game-changer... even if this is used, that would require some editing). But setting aside my opinion in that regards, Azure did a significantly better job at actually writing the smut than I did. I don't actually have much experience in writing that. (Also, as I don't feel comfortable voting on this as a participant, I'm unable to see the results of the poll. How are things going?)

2018-08-17 22:32:32 +0000 UTC...Man, if the rest of these are up to the standard of that first one, I'mma have a hard time choosing. And not just because this is really going above and beyond to fill the draught of Gamer Night content that's only just ended. I'm giving it my preemptive vote, just because that ending was really, really sad, and I really want poor Kaede to have a happier ending. But we'll see if any of the succeeding ones steal my heart along the way.

Also sorry in the end despite how I tried rounding up more contestants in the end most bailed or had a change of heart either something happening IRL, or Shirou's age, or not knowing who those three girls are thus not knowing how to go about it. they did say they were still interested in The Fall contest though which I ended up promising to inform them on when news get out. So I'm hoping for next contest you'll get a lot more writers and entrees:)

2018-08-17 14:39:11 +0000 UTCSo I've read all three of them and well being unbiased as possible I'd probably rate it. 1. TheLost Star, 2. Azure's, and 3. Mizzet's. If I go by judgement overall since in TheLostStar's case he had excellent characterization and build up which is especially impressive considering how obscure girls for contest were. Your not going to know these girls that well unless your REALLY a fan of the series and it's quite obvious he knew the material for Fate Gamer Night as well. The fact his piece was quite long was nice too but as far as smut goes I'd say only so~so neither being bad or good. Now as for the one who overall I placed at second Azure's, well for those who read piece on QQ he already mentioned he wasn't all that familiar with source material or even Gamer Night. His piece suffers from his characterization but in contrast he has the best smut among the contestants by far. As long as he gets a better grounding on series of Fate Stay Night as well as Fate Gamer Night I'd like to see him again. I mean it's hard to write high quality lemons so if he can just add on knowledge and get a better grasp of characters his stuff could be really really good. Now as for last Contestant Mizzet's piece can be quickly summed as good characterization, nice build up, but practically no smut as said smut only consists of a few lines. In the end I'm placing my vote for Azure's because out of the three I feel like he has the most room to grow and excel and I like the way he wrote the sex in his lemon. In the long run if he picks up work for Fate Gamer Night he may be for the best when he further familiarizes himself with everything. Those are just my thoughts though. Still good job on these guys making these pieces they deserve praise for that alone:)

Also any idea when the next The Fall chapter will drop? I hate sounding like a broken record, but is my favorite of your work and I'm reallly looking forward to the next few chapters. Especially since it's my bday tomorrow and it's like getting a gift.

Get me all excited only to dash my hopes and dreams. That said I like what your doing and how your trying to get more content to us, really shows you appreciate your base.
