In season 1 the same thing happens with Todo, where he almost beats Yuji to a pulp but suddenly remembers that Yuji has been his brother even though they just met, what actually happened in both these cases gets explained later.

In the 1st season when Megumi fought Kamo he commented about potentially losing too much blood in the fight but Kamo came prepared by bringing in his own blood bag he'd collected beforehand. and about Choso's case (minor spoiler) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . He is a curse in human's body and he can channel his curse energy into blood to use his technique. So he will not die from blood lost but will die if run out of curse energy.
