[Update] Current project update list

Hello everyone!

I hope you're all doing doing well.

It has been about a month since my latest post announcing that I'll be developing a seamless co-op mod for Dark Souls 2.

I wanted to make a quick update post detailing some of the stuff I've been working on and am planning since I made that post:

[ X ] Dark Souls Remastered: Seamless Co-op

Thank you to those who have provided very valuable feedback on this mod. Even though it has been about a month since the last update, I've spent some time fixing some of the more prominent issues (e.g. Lautrec's Invasion breaking saves).

I have an update ready which should address this, and more, which is pending a release build.

I will continue to support this mod into the future, fixing issues along the way. I am still working on implementing even more serverless mechanics - such as item vagrants and PvP gravelording - and only after then will be it feature complete.

[ X ] Dark Souls III: Seamless Co-op

The last public update for the Dark Souls III mod was in early March, and understandibly people are anxious for the future of the mod.

Rest assured I am still working on it. I've been slowly crossing off bugs when I've been able to and have completely re-designed some of the world synchronisation mechanics which should (hopefully) allow a less restricted co-operative system such as allowing individual players to warp.

The DLC access issue experienced by some players continues to elude me but as soon as I find out what the problem is I'll post a fix as soon as possible.

[ X ] Elden Ring: Seamless Co-op:

The last update for Elden Ring seamless co-op was earlier this year - and it was only a small update.

Since developing the mods for other FromSoftware titles, Elden Ring is first on my list to re-visit with a much deserved updated code-base.

[ X ] Armoured Core VI: Seamless Co-op:

Similar to Elden Ring, this mod has seen better days and will be re-visited. The community as a whole has been very patient with me on this and I'm very grateful.

I understand it isn't a very smooth experience, and this will be addressed with future updates.

[ O ] Dark Souls II: Seamless Co-op

Thank you for all of the positive comments on the accouncement post! It really motivates me to know that people are excited for the work I do and I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who supports me either with donations or kind words.

The development of this mod has been slow, as the structure of this game is very different to every other elden-souls-core game out there.

I've had a few comments asking for more detailed updates, or videos of the mod so far, however there is still not a lot to show. Making a mod like this is almost entirely reverse engineering work and very little actual implementation / coding / testing.

Understanding how the game works is most of the battle, and I've spent the last few weeks getting to know the ins-and-outs of the multiplayer.

Currently, I have severless connections working and the mod is playable but none of the user features are implemented (e.g. items to create sessions, handling deaths, invasions, etc.)

I'll make a formal annoucenment video when I can demonstrate the mod in a (semi) playable state.

[ O ] Sekiro: Seamless Co-op:

It has been 5 years since I made my first online multiplayer mod, and that was the Sekiro Online mod.

Since then, I've come a long way, and unfortunately the Sekiro Online mod has aged rather poorly. Whilst still functional it has a myriad of issues and a complete code refactoring was required.

I have since rewritten the mod introducing seamless co-op mechanics in the process, since the previous iteration of the mod was very true to the original souls-style multiplayer format.

The mod is currently undergoing closed alpha testing and I'm hoping to release it at some point in June depening on how many issues are found during testing.

I hope this update is helpful. I am still hard at work and my end goal is to create free, stable, and enjoyable mods that people can enjoy with their friends for years to come!

Take care,

Yui

Yui... you're... amazing. One person updating and covering From Software's entire catalogue all by yourself. You got me to pick up Elden Ring, I knew it was a good game but I didn't have a hook until Seamless Coop came out. I played through the entire thing three times with my best friend. And now we get to play all the older games together that we always wanted... It's a dream for one game to get this kind of support, let alone all of the games.
