Yeah, I understand what Clevatess is saying but he's speaking from the perspective of an apex being that isn't really empathizing with human plights. The risk of hiding a kid again is way higher now after Nell's mom did it and the bandits would be more prepared so shits like that don't happen again. So unless it's their own kid, they're just not gonna stick their necks out that far. Having Nell cares for her kids till the fuckers come and take them away would've been far more devastating for her.
