Development Report 9/11/2020
Added 2020-09-11 14:06:28 +0000 UTCHello everyone!
Back with a new report!
These past two weeks (and counting) have been really busy ones. A lot of stuff to work on, including but not limited to, Bioasshard.
Anyway, to the important stuff which is the work done for Bioasshard lol. So, as it is tradition by now (this is the first task I’ve been doing for every release since almost the beginning lol), I’ve started working on some new improvements for the Julia model. This time, the main part where I’m focusing my efforts are: correctives. Some of you may know what they are and some may not, but it’s a bit long to explain, so it’s better to see what they do:
As you can see, the deformations are far better now, making her look smoother and better. I started working on this because I had an idea of how to implement them that would be really easy for me to make… but I forgot an important and key part… the clothes!
Yeah, with those correctives in place, there’s now a lot of clipping issues, because they need to have the same correctives (or at least that’s my assumption being a non-3d modeler). So, I expected to have worked on a lot more stuff for this dev report, but due to this “little mistake” (yeah, that mistake I fall on a lot: not-thinking lol) I’ve been forced to spend almost all the time working on those correctives (it’s now when I regret to have added multiple outfits hahaha). Anyway, fortunately enough, I’m almost done with that at least for now (I’ll probably have to iterate through them from time to time, but don’t want to lose the time perfecting this, with more important stuff that needs to be done). Only one more outfit to take care, and I’ll be able to call that done.
As for what was said on the past report, the bug reporting for the upgraded UE version release… well, there’s been none on Patreon and Mr.Versus told me about a couple reports on discord; one saying it was working the same as before as expected and another one reporting a single visual glitch (only visual, not affecting the gameplay or anything else) that I didn’t have time yet to confirm I can reproduce it. So, I’ll take it’s working properly, so, we can keep working on this upgraded version instead of the old one. This said, it’s almost confirmed that the save-data from the old version (i.e. up to release 0.3.198-Rev.2) won’t work anymore, since the problem seems to be caused by how epic changed the background code for how the code works for variable types like structs and containers… so sorry about that, but please understand there’s nothing we can do about it.
So, with this said, that’s it for this report.
Please make sure to take care and stay safe <3
See ya in the next report.

There is no option for that, sorry.

2020-09-18 19:43:36 +0000 UTCWell as Meguido always says we're not modelers so for now this is the best we can do.

2020-09-18 18:29:12 +0000 UTCsounds good, and ya the save problem is something lots of games have to deal with when upgrading to the next engine but nothing you can do bout it so whatever lol. on the topic of julia (i might be alone in thinking this but) i feel her face/head could use a bit of work i always found her was head to big for her face or the other way around lol, that and the fact she kinda always looks angry, though her being annoyed is understandable giving her situation lol
