Making Some Changes

It's clear that monthly Patreon obligations, even if just ONE picture, were starting to get to me. Offering additional rewards hasn't been working to grow my Patreon. Believe me, I tried my best but it's time to put all rewards to rest and offer only a simple monthly tip jar.
Unfortunately, I now feel like my Patreon is worthless. I wouldn't be surprised if I go below $150 per month. I will lose a significant source of income, and it's going to hurt my ability to survive. There's nothing much else I can do. I was being demotivated and paralyzed by worrying too much about finishing pictures on time. I can't handle it anymore.
But I've just had enough. I want to work on things at my own pace without worrying about deadlines or obligations. So commissions, with the "pay when it's finished" workflow, is the best option for me. I can offer WIPs when asked, I can accept tips to make up for the difference. There has to be something else I can do.
I don't know what's going to happen to me at this rate, but things aren't looking good. I'll try to push forward and do what I can to keep drawing for you all. Patreon will now simply be a monthly subscription to support me, like a Twitch stream subscription.
First course of action is to make a new avatar, since I need a fresh start and to draw something for myself.
Second course of action is to figure out what I can do to enhance my Patreon a bit. Or to be more productive with my art, and offer more than what I currently offer. Streaming might be the best option moving forward.
Third course of action... well, I need to realize that this is okay. Patreon itself says that you don't need to offer rewards, citing The Jimquistion as an example. Consider supporting me as a way to pay for art that you are effectively seeing for free on FurAffinity and elsewhere, despite the art being paid for by someone else ( commissions ).

You know what, I'll consider your idea. And it won't be on a set schedule either to reduce stress. Yeah, this is a good idea!

2019-02-25 22:36:28 +0000 UTCYou know what... yeah. I've used this avatar for way too long. It's because I don't know what image size to use for best quality. It always looks too pixelated and too crappy when I try to make an avatar. What's wrong with the banner though? It looks nice to me...

2019-02-25 20:47:16 +0000 UTCI realize you are planning to focus on your commissions for income, but have you thought of changing your image a little bit to help people want to approach? Maybe a new avatar/banner that's more inviting to strangers. I've seen a few people say that when they see your posts they get scared because of the avatar mostly. Very huh... not inviting. As for how to survive, I'm sure you'll find a way, as long as you manage your resources carefully. Remember to budget appropriately and don't use money on luxuries if you can't afford them.
