📕🌺 Yumykon Time ~

You asked me to share more about myself, the things I like, and to share things to get you guys closer to me, to know who I am, my story, etc.

I wanted to start by telling you how I got into art and pixel art!

How I got into art

When I was 12 years old, I used to watch a lot of anime, Naruto, Death Note, and Elfen Lied. I became so obsessed with the depth of the lore and the emotions and stories in these shows that I get the habit of pausing the shows and drawing the scenes exactly as I saw them on TV. I did this daily for at least a year because I didn't have much else to do.

Then, when I was 13 years old, I started creating my own drawings, without copying anything. I still have some of them to this day, which I'll show you below. But first, I have to say that I didn't have an easy life. In fact, I experienced terrible moments in the past. However, art, along with games and anime, has always been my way of imagining myself and escaping to other worlds to avoid the pain and suffering of real life. I also found a way to express my fears, pains, traumas, and suffering through my art.

So, if you're sensitive, please don't view the drawings in the link below.

Basically, my introduction to art was in expressionist, dramatic, and horror art. The drawings were creative and expressive, although I lacked knowledge of form, perspective, and anatomy at that time. I drew almost every day, for several hours a day, and created dozens of drawings. I could get paper and pencils for free at public school, so I took advantage of this free distraction.

Well, I've always loved games because in small moments of my life, I got to enjoy them at friends' houses, with relatives, etc. But at the age of 15, I discovered the power of PC Coffee Houses, so I developed the habit of doing my classmates' homework or selling my drawings to afford hours and hours in the PC Coffee Houses to play Grand Chase, World of Warcraft, and bunch of RPG Maker horror games that I always loved. In 2015, I discovered a game called Undertale. This game and its narrative had an instant effect on me of hope and determination, and in my obsession to learn more about it, I discovered that the game was idealized by just one person.

This inspired me to dedicate my life to inspiring people in the same way, leading me to make decisions that would change my life from that moment on. I continued to dedicate myself daily to drawing and studying art:

while struggling to create a life condition that would allow me to have my own computer and independence to study game development and pursue my dream.

In 2017, I started doing pixel art, and below is one of the first pixel art pieces I created.

Then, in 2018 to 2019, I started receiving commission requests through the Fiverr platform, where I spent 3 months earning extra income alongside my job as a developer at a large bank in my country. Until I decided to take a leap of faith and dedicate myself solely to working with pixel art. These are the arts I was being commissioned to do it at the time:

Since then, I've been doing pixel art for dozens of hours daily. I worked on Fiverr until October 2023 when I decided to start building a meaningful career on Twitter and invest time to achieve financial independence to continue moving towards my dream.
