Hello and sorry

First off, no, I am not dropping of the edge of the earth to disapear and never be seen again. I have paused billing for a month because I have been in a little of a slump the past couple of months and decided that I needed a bit of a break this on or I would burn out. I have the chapters for Marvelous craftsmanship as well as heros and legends. But I have been staring at the blank doc for Self made the last couple of days and nothing is coming up. So a break sorry for making you wait.

Hey there, I'm sorry to hear that. I was looking forward to a new chapter of SM, but writers block can happen. So I would like to take this as an invitation to give some feedback. While I did watch the movies, I was never a huge HP fan. I think it was mostly due to the general softness of it all. The characters were soft, the magic was soft; I know, not the best way to express myself, but that's how I felt. Your story put a different spin to it, one I enjoy a great deal. Silver is driven, inquisitive, practical, forward-thinking and absolutely unashamed. She suffered setbacks from her reckless drive to improve and understand, but she learns from them. No, wait. Rather than learn, she improves herself. When she got bit by the wolf, she freaked out. Relatable. BUT! She kept her cool, which I found to be extremely satisfying (this is what I mean by soft. People freak out and do dumb stuff. But not Silver. She's thoughtfull). And not only that, but she took the cards she got dealt and ran with them. Her mindset of not 'curing' the disease, but to use it to her advantage? Now that's some breath of fresh air I love in a character! What I also appreciate is her willingness to do anything, even human experimentation. And her musings after accidentally killing innocent children with the fire? On a human level? Appalling. But in your story? Her conclusion that it's not bad she did it, but it's bad she didn't meant to do it actively? Highly intriguing. It's this level of drive and reckless abandon that makes Silver interesting and leads to discoveries about the magic in the HP universe that go way beyond the nonsensical talks of the contemporary wizards. The scientific destructuring of the HP magic system and your improvements/expansions on it are also enjoyable to read. It makes it all so coherent and well-rounded! Silver using that to her advantage is the icing on the cake (like her Moonlight-Blocking-Thingy). Now, from what I have described so far, Silver seems like a completely mad scientist (I mean, she kinda is). But then Sophia comes into picture and adds a new dimension. Silver isn't scared of Baldy or Dumbledore and I don't think anyone can tell her what do to. But Sophia throws a wrench in there and it leaves me questioning what will become of their relationship. As they're too young as of now, it leaves a lot of room for development. Will Silver tone down her inhumane experiments to not scare Sophia off or disturb her? Or will Silver continue to train Sophia like a puppy with her pheromones (and aura?) until Sophia becomes sorta/kinda corrupted by it? Would that not make Sophia a mindless pet or drug addict? Would Silver even want that? Something else? Thank you for your story and I look forward to reading more :)

Oliver

Glad you are safe and happy
