2021-05-15 18:32:13 +0000 UTCAragorn is a Dúnedain, a race of man who's royal line has Elven blood. He is also descended from Elrond's brother Elros, who chose to become mortal and die as men do. Elrond and Elros are actually both Half-elves themselves, difference being that Elrond chose to stay immortal.

2021-05-15 15:42:36 +0000 UTCAs Edward touched on, Sauron has been regathering his strength for centuries since his defeat and subsequent loss of the One Ring. Only recently has he become strong enough and bold enough to start making major moves again and reveal his presence to the world at large. The Peter Jackson Hobbit films focus on this further, since not much attention is paid to Sauron in the book or other adaptations as the main focus is on Smaug.

2021-05-14 22:36:07 +0000 UTCJackson’s trilogy is a cinematic masterpiece. Sadly The Hobbit is not. Sauron has been gradually getting stronger for several centuries. The reason Gandalf leaves the dwarves at Mirkwood in The Hobbit was to attack Sauron. The man with the beard in Bree is Peter Jackson, btw.
