Aragon is a Dunidein. Basically, he and his people live in the North near the Shire. They were linked as a Numenor kingdom to Gondor in the South, but were split into three northern kingdoms after Isildur died, which were themselves destroyed by the time of the LOTR period. Their descendants were from Numenor, a large island nation like Atlantis that was swallowed by the sea, but not before they settled a lot of middle earth. The Numenorians had long lives and can live to 200-300 years. They were men, just long-lived men with some Elvish lineage.
