As a Marylander I take some small pride in this film's existence. Growing up I've always thought of it as being part of the state's culture, right up there with crabbing and a strong dislike of the state of Virginia. Strange to think that it's 22 years old now.

Went to see this in the theater when I was a teenager.. and I remember after the ending scene in the basement when the credits started rolling.. nobody in theater moved.. finally after like a minute went by.. some guy stood up and yelled out WTF.. whole place cracked up and started piling out.. place was packed..

2021-06-05 00:42:35 +0000 UTCThat ending scene is still haunting, the impact this movie had back when found footage wasn't a thing was insane. Before social media. If the Mrs. wants some good thought provoking horror, i'd highly recommend Hereditary and Midsommar
