A tender, heavy chapter. Dong-kyung finally seems to grasp what is really happening, and for the first time the fear and sadness cut through the strength she has carried all series. Her quiet moments land hardest, where resolve meets the very real cost of it.
Jina, Joo-ik, and Hyun-gyu inch toward a resolution, yet it is not neat. The choices feel honest, but there are lingering doubts about what Jina truly wants and whether anyone can give it to her right now.
We also get a brief, chilling glimpse of the world that would exist if Dong-kyung keeps her end of the contract and brings Doom to everything. It is stark, thought-provoking, and raises the stakes without tipping into spectacle. A reflective, aching pair of steps toward the end.
