Picked up UFO 50 in the Steam spring sale today. If you've never heard of it, it's a throwback to pack-in game carts like Action 52 on the NES but with the caveat that each game is actually a real game instead of shovelware trash. I've gone in mostly blind but with the hint that I should play Pilot Quest first. When I realized exactly WHY I should play Pilot Quest first... well, I still have it running in the background while I run this. I haven't STOPPED playing it since I started today. Figuring out just how the game worked, seeing new stuff open up, having it all click and make sense... It's an amazingly satisfying experience. And this is just one of 50 games...? I'm in heaven. I'm also extremely interested in the background narrative the game presents of the fictional company who made all these games... but first, I need more science and spider webs.
