"The Crabbit" Monster of the Month for September 2019!

So for those of you who missed it, "The Crabbit" decisively won his battle with the Assassin Mole-rat for who gets to be September's Monster of the Month! Thank you to everyone who participated in the poll! It was a lot of fun, and I hope to do more 1v1 battles like it as we move forward with the series.

I've attached the hi-res final art to this post, and I'm also attaching the Animatic Process GIF for "The Crabbit" below. In the Animatic you can see a few of the more wild changes that he underwent while I was painting. Perhaps the most drastic was the eyes. Somewhere along the lines the figure had lost that charming, wide-eyed bunny look that I felt was so important to the design. That expression, when mixed equally with the spiked crab elements, should have looked perfectly mad. But I was not liking the results, so I ended up making a sharp change and giving him very large pupils near the end.

It's different than what I had originally envisioned for him, but I feel like it captured the essence better. I hope you enjoy him! Look for the brush sets and reward bag later this month!

And for those of you who voted for the Assassin Mole-rat, don't worry, I think you'll be seeing him again very soon...
