Roadmap for May 2020

Welcome to MAY! It has been a crazy time, but it has been blast hanging out with you all during the lockdown here on Patreon and on Twitch!

We did a LOT in April! We had a full month of streams and got affiliated on Twitch (Wooo!), we finished a new Plague of Dragons wallpaper image, finished 2 new monsters and did a lot drawing. We have a lot planned for May, so let's get into it! Here's what to expect this month:

TWITCH STREAMS!: We are going to stay on our regular schedule this month with The Morning Show Wednesdays at 10AM EST being our regular weekly stream. We will also do the occasional Saturday morning stream and the odd Late Night stream here and there as time permits. Don't miss our stream Wednesday the 6th as Annie and I announce the new #LETSDRAWMONSTERS Challenge. The Rabbat was a ton of fun and we've got a new one to challenge you with! We'll have a lot of fun giveaways to keep things fun and interesting.

TWITCH SCHEDULE FOR MAY:

Monster of the Month: It's spring, and our lawn has been taken over by a horde of subterranean vermin who are hellbent on undermining the foundation of our home. So in honor of these vile little furballs and their unermining cult, I am doing Kobolds for the month! (Think: Rat/goblin cultists and you've pretty well got it.) I've got 2 Kobold designs right now and am going to attempt to finish both this month. To see the drawing of the first one, The Kobold Warlock, check out our Twitch VOD from April 29!

Classic Fantasy Illustration: For this month's painting we are going to be sharing a painting for a fantasy cover art commission and sharing a bit about the process while livestreaming it. We will also be trying to dive into a new Plague of Dragons image, if time permits.

Prints! We have also had prints made of From Ruins and of our recent Dungeon Master Series. Those will be available any day and we will have some discount codes for Patreon subs for all of those later this month. ;)

Tutorials: Now here is where it gets interesting! I am starting a new series this month called Drawing Dragons.

Drawing Dragons is a series of tutorials dedicated to drawing from imagination. They are the chapters from a book by the same title that I have been working on for the past year and am  now assembling together for the final printed book. You will get to be the first to see these chapters and go through the entire process as I cover my method, tools, and techniques for creating and drawing fantasy creatures. You can expect to see the first installment, Sketching from Imagination, early on this month.

Mentorships: We are finally re-opening Mentorships for May! However, because we have had such a large amount of interest for the month, we are opening the available slots in waves. We are opening the first 3 today, and will open another 3 tomorrow if there is interest. (So if you don't get in, please message me!) We will be doing some of these mentorships during the day, and some of these at night. This is a somewhat irregular schedule for us, but we have no childcare during the lockdown, so I must schedule these during times when my children are *supposed to be* asleep.

AVAILABLE TIME SLOTS: (first come, first served)

Thank you so much for your support! I'm looking forward to making monsters and hanging out with you all this month! -jg

Edit: Adjusted the mentorship dates! I will continue to update this page as spots get filled up for it!

Comments

Thanks for the suggestion Peirce! I ran out of time during that last one, but that sounds like a great idea for a follow-up stream on drawing dragons. We’ll do that in a future one!

Hey Justin, really enjoying the content, if you're taking suggestions, when I tuned into your dragon drawing twitch, I was hoping you'd cover drawing their legs and wings, but you stopped at the head and neck. Not to say it wasn't awesome to watch.

Hey thank you Wesley!!

I am constantly impressed with your offerings, instruction, and videos. Easily the best Patreon period.
