Ancora Bay 08 - Halfling Village

Old Gods protect us if they take our land

Welcome to the final new release of Ancora Bay! This is the halfling village, high up in the hills above the city. Though free from the hustle and bustle of the busybodies below, times are changing even for the halflings. This idyllic village is unlikely to last.

Please note that we will be releasing the Definitive Edition of Ancora Bay soon, which will include tokens, a Foundry module, a fully stitched PDF, and a slightly edited version of the full city map.

Borough Guide

At long last, we learn about the indigenous people of Ancora Bay. The halflings live much more in harmony with the natural world, and they hope to maintain their independence despite the growing city around them. You'll learn about the Old Gods in Roksunay [LIMINA EDIT: yep, these gods just keep showing up in realm after realm. We're going to have to look into that...], plus some innovative magics, inventions, and strange frogfolk. Threats abound, and some form of hostile takeover seems likely. Is your party willing to stick out their neck to help? Even if they know it might be a losing battle?

Map

This final section of map occupies the southeastern corner of Ancora Bay. You'll see the source of the pleasant stream that runs down through the slums, plus hints of the lush vegetation that renders most of the island uninhabitable. Standing stones dedicated to the old gods and forest pathways render this part oft the map far different from the city below. When disaster strikes, you'll see a new side of the city: one of destruction and of capitalist encroachment.

And with that: the city is completed! We're extremely proud of this map, which is (I dare say) one-of-a-kind in its size, scope, and detail.

Music

To no surprise, the music up in the hills is quite different from that of the busy city. "Efrinol Noi Alo" emphasizes groovy beats, woodland whistles and pipes, and the calm atmospheres of the jungle. The "(Jungle Breeze)" variant is better suited for calm nights, and indoor conversations. Plus, Chief Couriers get another little present: Music d20's track "Shipwrecked on the Skeleton Key (Calm)" for maximally low-pressure chill tropical vibes. As always, if you want our bonus rewards, make sure to check out the Chief Courier tier!

Note that the Ancora Bay album will release on Bandcamp and streaming service this coming Friday, so if you don't like dealing with loose mp3s, you can still jam out to this 13 (!) track album on your platform of choice.
