A wide system overhaul 2 months back, and a whole plot overhaul this time around. The name of the game is Becoming Prom Queen, and it's about time we delved deep into that story.
It has always been the plan to write all the side quests and stories leading up to the Spring Break first, before I went to implement the main story through which everything else changes.
The reason behind that is to make the big mistakes elsewhere, and allow the main story to be "right" in every sense of the word. What's prom without a rival, and what's a rival without power?
The introduction of a power couple, that has always been lurking in the shadows of previous updates, will bring with it a very seductive storyline that will be in the backdrop of the MC's mind as she progresses through the game.
I'd been called out on certain scenes and characters, and have been teased over the fact that the plot of the game was never broached. No more I tell you! From a character that seemingly appeared out of nowhere to challenge the MC in the final stages of the HRC's first arc, to the cheerleading squad that is yet to make waves in any way, to the "three different flavors of the same black guy", my game has received very valid and constructive criticisms over time, allowing me to set the scene for a fantastic overhaul that will bring with it a joyful replaying in a new light.
I am working daily to bring a new experience, to make the (mandatory due to save compatibility and development restrictions) re-play worth the effort, and to redefine what makes the game so special to many - and slowly over time more successful.
In this work, I am also revisiting the code, as discussed on discord, to make sure that things are improved on different fonts:
Aimlessness is greatly reduced thanks to the right side guide that was recently added, you don't have to hover over boxes to know what to do next. Storylines, where to go and what to do, are greatly improved.
Content toggle will be even harder in between storylines, but the option to opt out of the main aspect of a relationship after that initial toggle will be almost impossible, as the progression of the relationship is dependent on participating in the "club" of that given relationship.
Rewriting of the code in many different aspects of the game will make it easier to write a bug-free code, and if bugged, easier to locate and squash these pesky creatures.
Certain events will be placed on rails, following other events and a natural progression, that will make it so no content is lost on and no stat is unmet because of "circumstances".
All that being said, though, there is potential of bad news related to the coming update. There are still scenes to write ahead of Spring Break, there are still events to include and creamart experiences to flesh out even further, and a code to completely test out ahead of a public release. I am steadfast on having the update include everything leading up to Spring Break, and so will not be rolling out anything before that is done.
That pace of development and how much time it would take to reach that point is dependent on two things: how inspired I am to write scenes and the amount of choices that these scenes hold, and how tricky it will be to adapt the code. I always aim for an early month release, and even further aim for a day earlier than that. However, this time, truly dependent on these two aspects, the update might come in as late as Friday November 15th. I am working on getting everything done by then, but we'll see.
I'll definitely keep you posted on progress as we move along.
As always, I thank you for your support and patronage, and look forward to sharing my naughty imagination with you. Poor Eric has a lot of watching to do, as we all do, as the MC continues her journey of self-discovery and corruption.
