Sandbox features: Population: Happiness and migration

Hey there,

It's time for another sneak peeks into the features that are going to be implemented.


Happiness:

The number of citizens inside the city will depend on different factors. First and most important is the happiness (I haven’t written taxes because there could be a scenario where you have high taxes but you would compensate for their happiness with edicts or from other opportunities in-game)

Happiness will be influenced by edicts (feature) that the players would sign. 

Migration

Diplomatic relations (feature) with the other vassals from the empire. For example, going to a war/being in war will have a negative impact on the migrating population.  Basically, it will stop migration to your city.

Having low happiness, not only will stop people coming in, but it will also make your people leave.

On the other hand, having peace in your realm and being a prosperous kingdom, will attract more citizens up until the population cap is reached. 

Population cap:

It will be on levels:

Level I – 1000 people

Level II – 5000 people

Level III – 10000 people

Level IV – 25000

Level V – 50000

Level VI – 70000

Level VII – 100000

Each population cap upgrade will cost money so that the city would expand housing but on the other hand, having more citizens means you will collect more coin from taxes.
Values have not been yet defined for good because the test must be executed in order to see if it's easy or hard to have a normal playthrough.
