This was Alan's first movie?! I had no idea! While I was editing this, I paused around the cigarette scene because I thought that was an important part to analyze. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

2024-12-31 10:58:35 +0000 UTC2nd best Christmas movie ever (It's a Wonderful Life). So glad you enjoyed it, Jake would be proud (it is 5/5). Maybe the craziest thing about this movie is that this was Alan Rickman's first ever movie. He had been a great theatre actor, but in his first movie role he becomes the greatest action movie villain of all time. And there is a cool Advent calendar that features Hans falling 25 stories down the Nakatomi building, landing on December 25. Interesting tidbit about the Hans/John scene: John figured out it was Hans when he offered him the cigarette. Remember John said earlier that he knew they were European by their clothes and their cigarettes. Unlike American cigarettes that are filtered, European cigarettes are unfiltered. An American smoking a European cigarette would cough and be taken aback. When Hans didn't flinch when smoking that particular cigarette, John knew. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
