Short Story #1: The Mimic

Hiya there!

It's been a little bit since my last update, huh? Rest assured things are progressing well! I'll have a screenshot of Chapter 2 in action that I'll be wanting to share with you guys real soon, too. From then on I'll be slowly unveiling the new monster girls that will be joining the ranks and impeding Matt's quest to become an adventurer~

But what is the purpose of today's post, I hear you ask? Well, I've felt really bad about promising short stories for the longest time but being unable to deliver because of various reasons holding things up. So amid the Chapter 1 update, I put a little bit of time into the first short story that I'm happy to share with all of you guys now~

Consider it a small, early gift just before Christmas, because gosh, that sure snuck up on us. 2016 went by lightning fast for me for, it's been really crazy. But I'll reflect on the year in a seperate post, and try to keep focused here, haha.

I'm still wondering what the preferred method might be for you guys in how I deliver these stories. I'll be uploading it on google drive, though if you have ideas on where else I could upload it, I'll be all ears for future stories!

Additionally, I'm experimenting with the writing style for these short stories. I've tried to keep it in line with the visual novel's style where you're closely connected to Matt's perspective, but can mix things up later on down the line if people feel a more traditional format might work best.

And finally, this is my first short story, I wanted it to be special, so within the document are several images that accompany the text in a near light novel-esque fashion. These graphics are in fact planned for Chapter 2, so consider this a sneak peek into a scene that may happen in that game. (Though some parts will more than likely change)

That said, please enjoy the short story and let me know what you think! I'm hoping this will perhaps kick off some suggestions from you guys on what you might want to see in future material now that you've seen how the short stories are constructed.
