Quest Failed: Chapter Two - Dev Log #13

Hi there guys,

So, after yesterday's question on what you might like to see a full dev log on, regarding some of the lore around Quest Failed, an overwhelming amount of you have asked about the human/monster relations and how they work in this world. Of which I'll be more than happy to base this particular dev log on~ So get nice and comfy and prepare yourself for lots and lots of words!

Humans and monsters don't get along. This is something that has been established very early on in the first chapter, though never quite explained as to why this is the case. In a lot of instances, humans seem far more aggressive towards monsters, than monsters do with them. The reason for this boils down to two main factors:

So, essentially, the age long hatred of monsterkind comes down to a combination of an ancient conflict having left a deep, negative imprint on the minds of humans, along with monsters themselves having demonstrated their more...lustful traits time and time again which has created a negative image in the heads of most--but not all--humans.

And given that monsters were essentially pushed back and forced to live more primitive lifestyles, regressing from whatever they may have had before, they were unable to accurately record and document their own histories. Over the years the younger generation of monsters has come to be, along with little knowledge as to why humans might hate them as much as they do, only knowing as much as that they should keep themselves hidden--much like an instinct that has developed naturally.

And, possibly you might learn more as you play in Chapter Two, though that's the general gist of things~

Apologies for any rambling or incoherence that might crop up at points--it was a task and a half forming my notes into more readable entries for you all, haha. If there's something you feel doesn't make sense--or you need more clarification on, feel free to ask in the comments and I can respond, potentially amend what I have up here for everyone's benefit.

Thank you all for reading~

I'll soon having something up that talks about the particular 'classes' of monsters and how they're categorised in the world.

Comments

Male seed satisfies their hunger the most--though they can substitute it for other things that might be considered essence of life too, like blood for example.

Frostworks

There's definitely ways to turn into a monster girl--or become a hybrid of sorts. Which some might desire due to the increase in power over a regular human body, for example. But then it goes the other way, too, where some monster girls may want to try and disguise themselves as human, desiring the more civilised life a human leads.

Also do MG's need male seed to survive or could they sustain themselves on *ahem* a woman's 'fluids'? Just curious because of Ruby's attraction to women.

CAsh

Has there been any women in society that may, I don't know, be jealous of the MGs for there way of life and may want to try and turn into them through sorcery or whatnot?
