Quest Failed: Chapter Two - Dev Log #14

 Hiya there, guys!

It's about that time again for a new dev log, whoo~ I trust you're all still having a pleasant summer? I'm doing what I can to survive through the heat!

To start things off, I'd like to mention that I intend to release the second build of the alpha very soon, the 22nd of July to be precise. I'll be adding in several more playable quests, along with the conclusion to the existing quest where the previous alpha ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. Along with some general additions here and there (like the gold counter, tightening up some of the existing writing, etc.) I've already gotten a lot of helpful feedback on how best to improve things, too. So I have a really good feeling about how polished this game is going to be by the end of things!

Anyone who has received the existing alpha and is still on that current tier will get the build the moment it's ready--while anyone waiting to be processed at the start of next month will get the latest, up to date build with all the content the moment they've processed.

Now, onto the dev log itself! The previous dev log which delved into the conflict between humans and monsters seemed to gain quite a bit of interest and sparked some fun back and forth conversation on things. So I'd definitely like to try and make these lore focused posts a regular thing, if people would like to keep reading about them, of course!

Though I know things might get too boring if every update is just wall after wall of rambling text, so I still want to supply visual updates on the state of the game when I can, of which you'll see the lovely Ruby headlining this current dev log~ It's hard to say what she might have planned for poor little Matt in the dead night. But if past experiences have taught him anything, well...

While the larger cast definitely means I can't go too crazy with giving everyone large amounts of CGs, I still wish for there to be more intimate moments with the original cast, given they were the ones that drew in some many people to the series to begin with. The original cast also has the benefit of having already established relationships with Matt, meaning that in a lot of cases they're not just gonna pounce him in a frenzy like some of the newer monsters might. I mean, more than likely they're still gonna be rough, but it'll be semi-consensual, or something!

And while Chapter One had minimal choices, Chapter Two has a heavy amount of choices to be made--some that can branch the story, some that affect relationship points with characters, and then some fun ones on top of that. You'll really start to see the results of a lot of your choices throughout the adventure, depending on which girls have the most affection for you. I think some results that come from that will be quite surprising!

And with that said, that about wraps up today's dev log. The next post will more than likely be when the next alpha build goes up, so I hope you're all looking forward to it!

Until next time, thanks~
