Quest Failed: Chapter Two - Dev Log #21

Hi there, guys!

I hope we're all doing well today. I'm back again today with a new dev log!

I believe I've shown it on twitter already, but those that might not follow me on there, I wanted to show that I've made great strides with the progress screen of which keeps track of all of the relationship bars for the characters you might meet.

It's now officially implemented into the game and fully functional, able to scroll and increasing in size the more characters that are added of which I've demonstrated so excitedly in this gif here:

(Don't worry, the Jillys are just placeholder portraits while I get everyone's faces cut into nice round circles for the menu. I promise she hasn't went fully yandere and assumed everyone's identities. Yet. Ahuhu.)

While it's also not immediately apparent in the gif due to compression, I also attempted to make the status bars blend in more with the general UI theme, adding more paper-like texture to the bars. Thoughts and feedback are encouraged as it's really easy to make finer tweaks to each element of the UI with all of the parts in-game now and separate image files.

As you can see, our brave adventurer-to-be has had a bit of a run-in with a certain royal guard captain. Given her unusually soft expression and the colour on her cheeks, maybe it's safe to assume that she's been drinking a bit too much and somehow stumbled into his room at the inn? He should really think about locking that door, since he's just inviting all kinds of trouble to come traipsing in! I'm sure given her strict, stern nature that maybe people were expecting a more...punishing kind of scene with her, but hey, who's to say there still isn't something like that waiting in store for poor Matt, too, hmm?

Also: I wanted to thank everyone again for taking the time to submit their questions in for the voice actress Q&A. I'm just waiting on a few last things to come together and then I'll be posting all of the compiled questions and answers in a new patreon post. The VAs really did take the time to write out some nice answers, so I'm sure it'll be a great read for people maybe interested in hearing from other people involved in the project beyond just listening to my endless rambling for posts at a time, haha.

Finally, to bring things to a close in this dev log, I want to say that I still intend to launch a new alpha version of Chapter Two this month. And it'll be worth the wait, I promise! It'll have some voices added to some of the existing h-scenes in the build, and really begin to delve into the core of the main story that's been building up, along with an exciting reveal that you won't have seen coming! (Or maybe you would have from miles away, but still)
