Quest Failed: Chapter Two - Dev Log #48

Hiya there, guys!

How are we all doing today? The sun is finally starting to shine through over where I am and the cold chill in the air is beginning to vanish. I had actually completely forgotten what warm weather felt like since it had been so long, haha. I hope things are starting to warm up for you guys as well!

I'd like to use today's dev log quickly to report on the status of the Chapter One v.1.1  (So many ones!) update:

At this present time, the bulk of the writing for the final h-scene is now complete (it was in a half-written state before but I wasn't happy with a lot of it and rewrote a bunch of things for a better presentation) and it's now just some technical aspects left to wrap up and some audio editing for sound bytes and the like. If I were to hazard a guess on when the update will ship, it could be in the next couple of days if all goes well!

I really do feel like it's going to be substantial update--and while it might not keep you playing for days again, it'll at least give a good hour or two of new content for your amusement and give me peace of mind that I've wrapped up Chapter One in a far more polished state than before.

Moving along to the main aspect of this dev log--this wonderful CG I'm teasing, where as you can see...Bella has taken quite the liking to our brave adventurer to be. I can tell you that this CG is the polar opposite of what their first encounter had ended up as, and one can only imagine what Matt must have done to win such a proud Queen over~

Like a certain other Queen's CG, this particular scene isn't explicit, and really just is an intense smooching session, but I felt like these kinds of scenes mixed things up and were a brief reprieve from the otherwise super intense and enduring sessions Matt would otherwise find himself going through.

It might just be my bias shining through, but I feel like these kinds of scenes, coupled with stellar voice performances from the VAs bringing the kissing to life really do make the scenes a joy to go through--even if nothing TOO sexual is happening and I really do enjoy writing them alongside the more tender moments too. Oh, and action/fight scenes, too! I absolutely LOVE writing those and can get wrapped up in the details completely. I didn't have much of a chance in Chapter One to show off Matt's fighting prowess, but Chapter Two is going to have a lot more fighting. It's just a struggle of trying to balance it all without leaning too heavily in any one direction and remembering that I am making an adult game here.

This leads me to my question for the day, though, to try and gauge what my audience personally would like to see out of my products:

What do you personally think of scenes that are hot and heavy, but don't necessarily lead to sex? Do you like them and would potentially like to see more in the future, or would you rather all future scenes with the girls take a far more explicit approach?
