Quest Failed - Audio Scene #2

Hi there, I'm back with one last surprise before the weekend is over--a brand new audio scene!

As a struggling recruit on the verge of being dismissed from the Royal Army, your Captain, Cynthia, calls you to the side for some...stern words. Will Cynthia's private training session help you to shape up and improve your endurance~?

Much like Ren's audio scene, this one is very experimental as I try to find out what works, and maybe what doesn't work in an audio-only scene. I try to balance between stimulating sounds and letting the character try to naturally narrate things to help paint a picture as to what might be happening in the scene, without dragging down things too much with the dialogue. I hope it's fairly easy to go along with and everything makes sense! As always, if you believe there could be room for improvement or you have suggestions for future scenes of this nature, please let me know! Truthfully these are very fun to write and put together!

You may also notice that Cynthia has a different voice--this is due to me losing contact with her original VA, Lux, and re-casting her with SweetPoffin--a very talented woman who you may already know as Ren and Bella! This scene was a great opportunity to reintroduce Cynthia's voice and experiment with the various tones and inflections and I hope you all like it!

There will be further refinements to her voice within the main game itself, as perhaps there's a few moments where the voice dips a bit close to Ren's territory, but overall I think it's still an amazing performance and captures the noble and valiant side while also capturing the more vulnerable side of our Captain~

This story should also maybe be regarded as loosely fitting the Quest Failed 'canon', so certain mannerisms and actions she takes might not line up 1:1 with how she'll be in the main game, but it was a great way for me to explore her character and help me plan out things for her scenes to come.
