Quest Failed: Chapter Two - Dev Log #57

Hiya there!

Truthfully I was going to hold out on releasing a new dev log until I had gotten the new alpha build out to remain focused on things--but I know it's been quite a while, and I don't want to fall too behind on these, as I want you all to be assured development is continuing at a steady pace~

First of all, the big elephant in the room--the alpha build isn't out yet, but is close. Really. R-really! Don't look at me like that! Truthfully I bit off more than I could chew when deciding what to implement in this iteration, but I think it'll be worth it, as I tried not to take any easy ways out by having the new quest end abruptly halfway through as I've done in the past--and this is probably one of the biggest single-part quests I've written, too!

So, I'm going to use the dev log for its true purpose for once and log everything I've done, to give you all an idea of what I've been feverishly working on adding this past month (you may want to skim over it if you're actively avoiding spoilers for when you play):

- Wrapped up the latter half of the 'library' quest writing. (Some of the warmer, fuzzier stuff I've written that expands a little more on Matt himself along with his new friend he makes~)

- Added voice to the library h-scene (And gosh is it adorable!)

- Laying down the foundation for the new UI set. It's not all fully ready yet so it won't be implemented in the next build, but it's coming along nicely--currently the Save/Load screens are getting some much needed attention to look as terrible as they do now.

- Added a new event that can happen at the inn that teases a few new characters with a fancy CG

- Updated Bella's sprite with the fancier new one that better represents her and updated her scenes to reflect this. Her h-scene still needs some tweaking to reflect her new look though

- Added a new quest which introduces not one, but two of the new characters along with some lengthy interactions with each, and 2 new h-scenes. (Well, one is kind of a semi-h scene but it's still pretty neat!) This is where I got the most daring and as you can see, the quest kind of absorbed a whole lot of my time. I think to balance this out I'll need to tackle a far smaller event in contrast next time to avoid draining myself too much.

I can't thank you all enough for your patience and really hope you will enjoy all of this when it comes out~

And to avoid this dev log being purely about the alpha which I know may not be of interest to many of you who would rather wait for the full released--I've also attached a small teaser of a cut-in from a CG featuring everyone's favourite(???) spy getting a little carried away after a few drinks. I think somebody is in for a wild ride, here! (Sometimes I wonder if I've included too many kissing scenes this time around, but then once I see them in action accompanied with the amazing voice talent it just makes me want to add even MORE kissing scenes!)

(Some custom stories I wrote for patrons based on their own requests. One is slightly more in the QF style while the other is some non-canon yuri loving between Ruby and the hooded girl--what a match-up!)

Audio Scene #1 - Ren's Interrogation
(A scene from the perspective of an assassin that is unfortunately (fortunately?) caught by the ever vigilant Ren. She wants to get some information out of you and will do by using some rather unorthodox means!)

Audio Scene #2 - Cynthia's Training
(A scene from the perspective of a rookie soldier who is falling behind in training. Concerned, Cynthia takes you aside and bluntly says that if you don't shape up, she'll be forced to relive you of your duties. Fortunately, Cynthia will give you some private, one-on-one training to help you get in shape~)
