Hiya there!
It's been about a week since our last dev log and I hope I haven't kept you waiting--but fear not, I'm back and with more walls of words to crush you all under in this next installment! Gosh, we're almost at 70 dev logs already! I wonder how many we'll hit before Chapter Two releases? (Hopefully not TOO many more, heh-heh...)
First of all, I'd like to cover what I've been working on throughout the month and kind of get you all up to speed on where my efforts have been going, and what I plan to do with the remaining days of the month.
After wrapping up a cute interaction with Marine (not tied to a h-scene, but building her relationship points up towards another one, kinda Persona Social Link style but with more writing!) I've been working towards something of a mega series of events that serve as the finale for another character, encompassing not one, not two, but three CGs in a very long set of events that has all sorts going on~ I don't want to spoil too much by revealing what character it's with (or multiple characters, huhu), or what happens--but when I finish wrapping up this particular series of events this character will then be fully completed in Chapter Two and allow me to focus my efforts on remaining characters' scenes. I've had this particular scene in mind since the moment I first created the character way back at the start of development of Ch. 2, so it's kind of been crazy after such a long journey with them to finally be able to write it all up.
In addition, the VA for this particular character delivered the lines for the majority of the scene in record time, almost just under a single day after receiving the script--so in the upcoming alpha you'll be able to witness this wonderful scene fully voiced, and I think the VA really went all out here~
So, this gigantic set of scenes has been dominating the majority of my time, but I also want to get a start on something else I've been outlining for a while--and that relates to the image in today's post--namely the monster girl camp sat just outside of Rhan.
Acting as a means to divide the monster girls from humanity sitting just on the other side of the wall, I came up with the idea of the camp so that all of the monster girls could congregate in one place while waiting for their dear Matty. It's safe to assume that while you're gone, they'll get up to all kinds of antics on their own, so it's worth your while to check up on them from time to time to make sure you don't miss anything.
Which brings me to the main focus of the camp--the plan is for it to serve as another 'hub' of sorts. Just like how Rhan has places and people to visit between day and night, you'll also be able to visit the camp during the day or night, with varying results depending on who might be there at the current time and what Matt might have to say when visiting the monster gals.
When visiting the camp you'll be prompted with a variety of options, allowing you talk to monster girls that might currently be there in an effort to develop your bonds further with them and unlock new h-scenes. Not all of the girls will be there all of the time, and some may be out hunting, or sleeping, so you may have to visit at the right time to talk to the girl you desire!
Additionally, depending on previous things Matt has done relating side quests and the like, the simple act of visiting the camp might trigger a special event. Might the girls be arguing when Matt arrives, and he'll have to do his best to pacify them--or might the camp receive an unexpected visitor--someone who followed Matt back from a previous adventure? The general idea would be that the camp might 'grow' as new monster girls claim it as their home, having fallen for their darling little Matty and wishing to be close to him. If Matt's not careful he might end up with an entire community of monster gals waiting for him at the camp--less than inconspicuous for sure! Which monster girls do you think might taken a liking to Matt enough to leave their habitat and become one of the little gang they've got going on?
I have plenty of stuff planned for the little camp and really want it to feel lively and its own little home away from home, rivaling even the great walls of Rhan for intractability and content that might be lying in wait!
Finally--the monster girls WILL keep track of how long Matt spends away from them, and if he doesn't visit enough, they're not going to be very happy. So, uh--don't spend too many days away from the camp, or you might regret it! You don't want to make them sad, do you?
And so, with this dev log coming to its conclusion--I leave you with a few questions for discussion if you so wish!
What do you think of the monster girl camp? Do you think it's a good way to separate the monsters and humans, or do you feel splitting them up so much is a bad idea? Will you be sure to visit the camp to talk to some of your OG chapter 1 favourites, or will you be spending more time with the humans? And finally--which of the new monsters do you think might find their way to the camp in an effort to integrate into the group and become part of Matty's ever growing harem?
Until next time~
