Quest Failed - Guest Art Corner #4 - Nefetari

Hiya there! It's been a little while since the last guest art corner, but what better way to wrap up the end of the summer than a gorgeous illustration of everyone's favourite sleepy mummy taking some time to unwind at the beach~?

This super pretty illustration is brought to you courtesy of Gem, an incredibly talented artist who specialises in a variety of different styles across a variety of fandoms, of whom you can follow and see more of her stuff via twitter, here: https://twitter.com/card_queen

I highly encourage you to check out her stuff and support her super cute endeavors!

When given a choice of characters to draw (from the whole QF roster!), Tari stole her heart almost immediately and it was decided at that point we'd put together a nice little beach scene, as it was only fitting for someone like Tari who has an affinity for the nice warm sand, mrrrr~

And while I may be biased, I'm super happy with how it turned out! Everything from the way the sun radiates wonderfully off of her tan skin, to the little sparkles across the surface of the coconut and the watermelon--it all adds up together to create such a warm, cheery image fitting for someone who loves their warmth so much! And of course let's not forget the dozy demeanor and pose--even when she's not trying she still somehow manages to end up looking fabulous as always!

There was also a desire to illustrate Tari's bandages in something of a lighthearted and comical way, emphasising their independent nature from Tari herself as they attempt to cater to her whims with varying degrees of success. One is swatting a bug away, another two are attempting to splat open a watermelon (and I'm told it probably won't end well) while another is fetching Tari another coconut after the last one shattered in her impossibly strong hands~ The bandages are a little uncoordinated at times, but gosh darn it, they try their best to keep their master happy!

It was this kind of creativity with Tari's character that I really think helps the piece shine!

So there you have it--one last summer-y gift before summer comes to a close~ We sure do spoil you on the Tari content, huh?

And beyond this, look forward to a regularly scheduled dev log either tomorrow or the next day, where I'll be exploring the part time job system a little more, alongside a potential roadmap for where I aim to have Chapter Two before the end of the year!

Until next time~

Tari sure looks fully prepared for her day at the beach! A parasol, coconuts and melons for snacks, and even a fly swatter!

Of course. All I'm saying is that in this case the guest artist's style is certainly... personal.

Different artists are part of the guest art corner, so we get to see all of the QF ladies illustrated in a variety of different styles~

That's a wonderful illustration but... at the risk of being "that guy"... and I never had to say this before, but my beloved Tari doesn't quite seem herself there...
