Hiya there! I hope everybody is doing well!
I'm back with this month's bonus art--maybe cutting it a little close, but I suppose that's the FrostWorks way!
For this month, I wanted to focus on somebody different, away from the staple characters (even as tempting as it was to do another Ren piece) so went with somebody that hasn't had much representation yet outside of a few teasers!
That is of course, the beautiful and benevolent(?) Queen of the Forest herself, Bella! As a fun side note, Bella's name was derived from the plant Belladonna, a plant said to often be considered very attractive and showy, but also incredibly toxic! Fitting, huh?
For this illustration I wanted something worthy of her majesty, and so I opted for a scene that focuses on her bathing in the sun and ruling over her loyal subjects! Which...of course, when you rule a forest, are going to be woodland critters, bugs and maybe some deer if you're lucky! Flowers too, of course.
Even though Bella puts up a show and acts like she hates the fact only such mindless animals heed her call, she does in fact have a soft spot for them and will often find herself surrounded by them during her more peaceful moments. Just don't let her know I told you that, or it'll be the thorns for me!
Bella offers protection to all of her royal subjects as well, doing what she can to protect the wildlife from hunters and poachers alike.
Also don't you just love that cute little fuzzy critter on her shoulder? I was INSISTENT that we had to add a squirrel somewhere, no matter what, and I think it worked out well!
I hope you'll also enjoy this piece! As always, those that pledge $15 or more for the month will find the lovely high resolution version of this art waiting for them in their inboxes at the start of February! Please look forward to the Valentines art next month, too! It'll be something special~
Also, a big thank you to everyone that added their input to my previous dev log! It was incredibly encouraging and uplifting to be able to talk out my fears and concerns with you all, and it's helped to keep me motivated for the long road ahead!
Until next time~
