Quest Failed: Chapter Two - Dev Log #144

Heya there, everyone! How are you all doing?

I'm back this week with a fancy new dev log, and I'm happy to showcase some more pretty CG art that was done for one of Bella's events. In this particular piece, she's soaking up the sun's wonderful rays so that she has enough energy to last through the day! You know, because she's a plant and all.

For this particular scene, I wanted her to really be striking a glamorous pose and looking proud to show her body off to anyone willing to look. (And if they're not looking her way, you can be darn sure she'll MAKE them!) You can see the confidence practically radiating off of her with that proud smirk and the way she poses so freely. Rumour has it that there's even a second part to this CG where she...makes herself a little more comfortable, to REALLY enjoy the sun on her body! But who knows what that might be, huh?

At any rate, gaze upon her magnificent, regal assets! I think they're a little bigger than they usually are in this CG, too, gosh. Maybe all that extra energy she's getting from Matt is really helping her growth?

You can also see a good part of the garden of flowers she's nestled in, and it makes for a really pretty scene with all of the different colours, and sunbeams shining down from above. It's a calm...almost serene sort of vibe, to the point you'd almost forget just how cruel Bella can be if you get on her bad side! (Which can be very easily done if you even so much as crumple a single petal in her wonderful garden.)

As mentioned with the voice preview from the last dev log, these scenes with Bella are designed to show off a softer side to the Queen, and help Matt to grow closer to her if he so wishes. At the present time, she views him as nothing more than a loyal servant...but hey, even servants can be loved by their Queens from time to time, right?

This is also a scene that wasn't planned in advance, and more came about as a natural result of me exploring Bella and Matt's relationship, and what sorts of things I could write about them. Where sometimes, even I don't know how an event is going to play out until I put the words to the page and something slowly develops in front of me. Writing is kind of a magical process like that, and I'm discovering more things about the character and the world at the same time as you!

Alongside this CG tease, I also wanted to talk a bit more about the writing and how it's been progressing lately!

I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I'm VERY happy with how things have been going--and this is looking to be one of the largest alpha builds in a while, with a huge addition to the main story, and I'm hoping at least 5 h-scenes of a sort. I've completely shattered the 500k word mark, and have been blazing ahead with this big, grand finale in the Chapter Two story!

I stumbled a bit here and there while I figured out the best way to write things, and think this particular battle might be a little messy to parse, but right now I'm just blazing ahead with it and will tweak things if needed once I get the necessary feedback. For now, my main goal is just to keep up this blazing pace and get the main scenario done with, so I can focus on the remaining side events, and finally finish this darn chapter!

There's so many dramatic things and revelations that happen and I'm super excited to be able to share them with people soon after planning some of these moments out so long ago. Like I say, I don't want to give false hope or anything, but I really am confident about progress right now! I very much appreciate everyone that's stuck with me this far and hope that you'll find the wait to have been more than worth it!

I just hope that a long stretch of text without anything too lewd happening won't detract from the experience--and I at least try to keep things saucy at times with the more flirty characters interjecting from time to time! But, I view Chapter Two not only as a chance to create a huge h-game, with TONS of h-scenes, but also to create a compelling and involved fantasy narrative, where you can really get absorbed in the world and enjoy the story as it unfolds. And I hope you'll all feel the same way, too!
