Bonus Art - What-if Scenario - Married to Ren

Heya there, I hope you're doing well!

I'm back with something slightly different today! I'm classing it as bonus art, HOWEVER--it won't replace the usual, more detailed monthly piece that usually comes once a month. That's still on the way, though the artist is just on vacation for a little bit, so it'll be a tiny bit delayed!

That said--today I wanted to try something new, and find fun ways to vary the content on the Patreon in between updates on the game and such!

And so, I present to you a series of semi-detailed images portraying a 'what-if' scenario, if Matt ended up settling down with Ren!

I'd initially thrown this kind of idea around as a joke before--but then the more I thought about...the more I really wanted to see what a potential, more 'mature' Ren would look like 10+ years from current day QF! And, well...this sort of just happened!

As you can see from the coloured centerpiece of the whole image, Ren has aged rather gracefully I'd say! She still retains a good degree of her more youthful--and perky--charms, but there's at least a hint of maturity across her features now, thanks to the inclusion of makeup, and her eyes becoming slightly more narrowed with age. I took special care when specifying her design, though, to ensure that she didn't veer too far in any one direction and kept most of her original, defining features. (In the first draft, she went full ara ara mode--and while that was quite a sight, it just wasn't Ren!) This was also important to reflect in her expression, where I wanted to ensure that she still kept a lot of the childish excitement she's known for, on a perhaps SLIGHTLY more subdued level. (But put enough alcohol in her and she'll be just like the old Ren!) I think this makes for a rather nice combination alongside the makeup!

And so, even 10+ years from now, her transformation isn't TOO radical, compared to how some others might start looking with enough time, but there are at least a few more subtle changes! One of which is that she's grown her hair out. Not completely, but enough to add a slight degree of extra femininity to her trademark bobcut she likes to rock, along with some extra ornaments in her hair. Gone is her scarf, too, and instead, that was passed down to the new generation of super ultra royal spies she had with Matt.

Which brings me to her outfit itself, which is probably the part that changed the most about her! Ever since I envisioned her as being older, this kimono-style outfit almost always popped up in my head as something that she would don in her ascension to motherhood. So I insisted upon it when presenting these ideas to the artist. But then the artist took the idea and ran with it, even incorporating aspects of her original outfit, such as the net top underneath, and the cord tied around the waist, which were really good additions and helped create something that was uniquely 'Ren'! They even modified the bottom of the kimono so that it wasn't too constricting on the legs, and both allow her to still zip around like always, and also showing off just how shapely those thighs are. My goodness. Initially the colour scheme was a lot closer to her old outfit, with greys and salmon pinks/reds, but I felt it was just a bit too dull for such a luxurious kimono and instead opted to go for a far richer red as the main colour, with black highlights. I think it came together quite well, personally!

And while I'm on the subject of her top...yes...we can't forget her chest. Upon becoming a mother, it's possible that her bust actually got bigger. Certainly not just because I insisted upon such a thing in the design. Definitely not! Either way, Her power just keeps increasing! Can she ever be stopped?! I'm sure we already know the answer to that.

But it doesn't just stop at the reimagined Ren! As a fun little bonus, accompanying sketches are also provided, showcasing various aspects of Mama Ren's life now that she's a mother, and a happily married woman! Let's dive in, shall we?

The top left image shows just how much of a loving mother she is, well within her element as she plays with her children, who absolutely adore her and view her as the perfect role model, much to Cynthia's disappointment. It was important for me here to showcase just how much childlike joy Ren gets from being with her children, too. They're essentially her world these days--along with Matt--and I'm sure you can already see that she'd be one of those super fun-loving moms, who makes every day a new adventure for her kids, and rarely having the heart to scold them. Especially not when they're THIS adorable! And with Matt being, well...Matt, you can be sure that these kids will grow up incredibly coddled. I'm sure it's fine, though!

You can see a glimpse of the three children here, too. Two of which inherited Ren's looks primarily, with the one in her hands being a little mini Matt. (Yes, that's a child, not the actual Matt. I know he's small, but come on!)

And on the bottom left, you can see another aspect of Ren spending time with her kids. Not only does she play with them, but she's also training them up to be adorable little super ultra spies in their own right. They've even got heroic, super sentai-esque poses that they practice daily! Cynthia is already spy-proofing the city for when they eventually become old enough to cause true havoc...but somehow, I don't think it'll be enough.

On the top right, our hero Matt makes his appearance, smothered in smooches by a VERY affectionate wife~ What you see here is essentially a daily occurrence. Or rather, just a very small peak of what goes on between them in a day. I probably don't need to elaborate too much further, but let's just say it's a big surprise that they only have three children, given how voracious Ren can be. And with age...it's possible her libido has only increased! You'll notice that he's wearing slightly different clothes, too--having integrated himself a bit more into Ren's culture, and dressing up in more traditional sorts of outfits. Nothing TOO radically different, but a fun little change all the same. And...yes...from a glance, it seems like 10 years hasn't really made much of a different for him regarding his appearance. He still has the same youthful looks as ever, as if he stopped aging a good long while ago. What is that about, anyway? Just luck of the draw with genes? Either way, he's cursed to eternally be ID'd at new bars.

And speaking of alcoholllll--that brings me to the final image on the bottom right, portraying Ren with her OTHER true love. This sketch is actually a modified version of her letting Matt rest his head on her lap as part of the initial ara ara sketch that went too far--but I really liked the angle and how it showed off particular, uh, 'aspects' of her--so I requested it be changed into her drinking, but to keep that nice, low angle. That's why something as simple as her drinking now feels so dynamic, haha. But I think it was a good choice! And you can rest assured that age hasn't slowed her down one bit when it comes to her drinking habits. She can still chug with the best of them, and then stagger her way home at night and ravage Matt until the sun rises. Isn't that what married life should be all about? It's possible I have a slightly idealised perspective here, but I'll hold onto these hopes for as long as I can.

That about wraps it up for this little 'what-if' scenario, along with an impromptu dive into the sketch's various aspects and trivia! I hope you enjoyed seeing this version of Ren as much as I have, and I'd love to hear suggestions on a character you might like to see be given this treatment, too for future pieces! I can't guarantee something like this every month, because it is quite elaborate, but maybe I can try to make it a semi-regular thing if it proves possible?
