BNHA: Stargazer On A Rainbow

CHAPTER 1

-

Looking at the large sign that read UA, he couldn't help but sigh at the thought of even attempting to here, let alone studying as a Hero. Maybe it would have been a brighter idea to let his father know beforehand, it would have saved a lot of hassle. Ugh, just imagining becoming the person he was named after sent chills down his spine.

Maybe he should try his best to fail the exam? But the image of his father if he didn't make it into the prestigious school... Tsk, what a conundrum he was facing right now. Fine, he guessed that he could at least put some effort into it.

Pushing his hat down his head to make sure that it doesn't fall off, he walked into the school, waving back at the friendly guard that normally waved at him as his eyes wandered around the potential school body in the grounds.

They were all... Weak. No muscles, horrible footwork, no training, it's like they hadn't trained a single day at all. There were some outliers, like the short, green-haired boy walking in front of him and the blond one behind said person. Their bodies were built rather well, especially the green-messy hair one.

Oh? The blond one just barked at the green-haired one. They must know each other. As the blond one walked away, the green-haired boy suddenly tripped on his foot and started falling face-first to the ground.

Hmm... To help or not to help...

Oh, well, it is the norm to help your classmates, well future classmates, he had a feeling that this boy would be a future classmate of his. His mouth moved as a bizarre event occurred.

(DDDRRRRRRMMMmmm...)

(...mmmMMMRRRRRRDDD!)

In an instant, the boy who was falling was back on his feet. Said boy blinked his eyes briefly before looking around in confusion.

"Wow, how did you do that? Was that your Quirk?"

A sudden voice behind him caused him to look behind briefly. Huh, seemed like there was already someone who was about to help the boy.

"I-I... Huh?"

The green-haired boy, he was just going to call him Moss Head since his hair was familiar to the vegetable, Moss Head here started stammering in either confusion of what just happened, or shock that a girl was talking to him from the look of his face. Cute

Walking past Broccoli, he mentally prepared himself for the written exam and stepped into the school building.

"The cumulative results for the practical exam are out!"

In a dark room filled with people, they all gathered around as the main screen in the middle showed a table of results.

"I still can't believe that he got second place with only villain points, and no rescue points at all! A total of 77..."

"Bakugo Katsuki with his Quirk Explosion, is the perfect counter to the faux villains. The robots use sight and sound as their primary way of targeting enemies. With the flashiness and loud sounds of his Quirk, he completely capitalized his advantage to draw them in. He surely has the brains."

"He has the brawn too. That Quirk of his is able to melt through a layer of steel to damage the inner components of the faux villains. I know that we made them easy to shred, but this kind of firepower should be recognized!"

"And in contrast... Midoriya Izuku, a student with zero villain points, but scored enough rescue points to score 60 points for 8th place..."

"There were a few students in the past that tried their hands on the 0-Pointer, but it's the first time I've ever seen it getting demolished! With only a single hit, mind you! The damages to it could score him in the Pro Hero top-20 alone!"

"But that power comes with a cost, and that cost is too large to not recognize. His Quirk shattered almost 30% of his bones per limb the Quirk was used on, what kind of Quirk does that? It's as if he was a kid and just recently manifested that Quirk."

"And now to the main elephant in the room..."

They all looked up the list towards the student in first place.

"Compared to the two of them, his ratio of villain and rescue points are 50:50 on the dot. A total of 60 points per score type equating to 120 points. Impressive is an understatement, he almost beat All Might's score of 168! The first student to cross the 3 digit point mark in almost 5 years!"

"What was his Quirk again? Telekinesis?"

"Should be, from what I watched, the student didn't even move a finger when dealing with the faux villains..."

"His telekinesis control is amazing. Look here, he slightly moved the faux villain's punch that was about to hit another student. The punch missed by a hair, but you can see here, the indents of some kind of arm."

"So that's how he got so many rescue points, he was fighting and helping at the same time, what multitasking ability!"

"His villain points are high for a reason too. At the start of the test, he traversed to a good position to get a bird's view of the whole map. I bet Snipe was crying when he saw that at least someone used his suggestion to make an easy accessible area for scouting."

"Relentless, too. Did you see how easily he massacred the faux villains? If what Bakugo did was a brawl, then what the first place did was an execution."

"An average of 2.3 seconds per faux villain? A monster indeed..."

"Huh... This surname, isn't this your son, sir?"

"What?!"

"Son? He had a son?"

"How does that even work...?"

"Yes, that's my son, alright! HAHAHAHAHA!"

"... Well, here goes nothing, I guess."

He mutters as he looked at the classroom door with the sign 1-A hanged nearby. Mentally preparing himself, he channels his courage and touched the screen next to the door. With a hiss, the door automatically opened as he walked in... To see no one at all.

Right, that made so much sense now that he thought about it, his father usually came to school before class even starts to get ready for the day, and today he sat with his father to school... Looking at the time, he cursed under his breath.

Homeroom started at 7:30, and it was only 6:04 in the morning. He held back a groan as he walked to his seat on the seating chart plastered on the blackboard. At least there was air-conditioning in the class in the bright side of things.

So, his seat was number 16 since the class seating plan followed the Japanese alphabet. That puts him at the famed window seat. He walks to his seat as he chuckled at his thought.

This was like one of his anime shows, to be honest. Students trying to learn to be heroes in a school setting, and he'd like to think that he's the kind of character with a mysterious yet powerful power.

Heh, mysterious and powerful power indeed. It's... Kinda mind-blowing, how it's been over 7 years since he woke up in this body, in a world parallel to his, nonetheless. 80% of the whole damn population has weird powers, the world is 400 years older than his original yet somehow still the same, and the hero/villain settings and systems that were only in comics were now in real life.

It was definitely a shocking experience.

And... The body that he somehow was in, just seeing the resemblance in just about everything makes him shudder in disgust and fear. He'd gotten used to this new face of his, but he couldn't help but dream of what-if scenarios at night about a very familiar vampire reclaiming this body...

Looking out of the window, he sees the reflection of his face through the mirror and held back a faint urge to shiver as turquoise eyes stared back. He felt the urge to scratch his head, so his hand moved to push his newsboy cap with pins of letters "G", "I", and "O" on the front of his cap upwards slightly, revealing well-kept, golden blond hair that sprung out messily.

"Tsk, my hair is so stubborn..."

After struggling to push his hair back under his cap, he makes sure that the cap stays in place before pushing the visor of the cap closer to his eyes as he leans back on his seat and closes his eyes. A nap for a good half an hour should be fine, class starts in more than an hour after all.

Being shaken awake, it was a miracle that he didn't lash out as he pushed the visor of his cap to see a raven-haired girl speaking politely to him.

"Excuse me, but homeroom is about to start."

Resisting the urge to yawn, he looked over at the class clock. It was 7:27. Huh, he overslept. And from a brief glance around the classroom, it looks like the whole class has already gathered. Hey, even Moss Head was here, though he was standing outside the classroom currently talking to a boy with glasses and a brunette girl.

Scanning the room and documenting some information in his mind, he looked back at the raven-haired girl with the ponytail.

"Thanks."

Giving a polite thank you to the raven-haired girl, he grabbed his P.E. uniform in preparation.

He already knew what was going to happen, from his father and some other friends of his father. Usually on the first day of class, there was an orientation that will happen for the new first year students, but this was not applicable for the students of Class 1-A.

Instead...

"Go somewhere else if you want to play at being friends."

A dead-sounding man said with a cold tone as the three outside the class jumped in fright at the sudden voice.

"This is the Hero Course... Not somewhere to play around."

A few seconds later, a neon-yellow caterpillar crawled into the class and unzipped itself, revealing Aizawa Shouta, their homeroom teacher.

"OK, it took 8 seconds for you all to quiet down, that's not good. Time is limited, and you kids aren't rational enough."

"A teacher?"

Moss Head blurts out as the man just hums.

"I'm your homeroom teacher, Aizawa Shouta. Nice to meet you."

His introduction was so bland and short, but the class reacted to that sentence quite harshly.

"H-Homeroom teacher?"

"Him?"

The teacher glared at the gossipers briefly, causing them to immediately shut up before Aizawa brings out a standard P.E. uniform set in a plastic seal from his sleeping bag as reference.

"You all must have received a notification to bring your P.E. uniform today. It's kinda sudden, but please put these on and go out to Field Zeta. Be there in 10 minutes. Use the directory outside the class on the walls to navigate."

With his piece said, he walked out of the class. As always, Aizawa is cut-throat and direct. Being the first person to stand from his seat, he slung the plastic sealed P.E. uniform over his shoulder before walking out of the class.

Whilst the middle of taking out his new fresh pair of sports shoes provided by the school with their logo on the side, he was suddenly called by someone beside him.

"Hello, I didn't get to introduce myself earlier since you were sleeping! I'm Kirishima Eijiro, nice to meet you!"

The red-headed boy, dyed from what he's seeing, offered a hand. Stopping his actions, he stood up and was about to shake it and introduce himself when suddenly another person with yellow and black hair cut in.

"Me, too! I'm Kaminari Denki! Nice hat, by the way!"

And thus started the introductions as every boy except for a tad few started introducing themselves to him. Kirishima, Kaminari, Ojiro, Sato, Aoyama, Iida, Sero, Tokoyami, and Midoriya. He noted down the names in his head as he listened quietly.

Eventually once he was able to speak without being interrupted, he took his hat off as a sign of respect, his messy golden hair springing all over the place before he introduced himself with a small smile.

"Hi, I'm Diego Brando, but I prefer to go by Jojo. Nice to meet you all."
