"A Quirk assessment test?"
Most of the class repeated in shock as a girl with chestnut colored hair asked.
"But what about orientation?"
She got back a snort as Aizawa retorted.
"Orientation is a waste of time. If you're going to become a hero, you will not have time for such leisurely events. UA's selling point is how unrestricted its school traditions are, that's also how the teachers here run their classes."
Turning back to face them, he looked at his whole class before asking.
"You kids have been doing the usual physical assessment tests since your junior high years, right? The ones where you weren't allowed your Quirk on?"
He brought up a high-tech device that displayed the tests that they were going to do.
50-meter sprint, grip strength, standing long jump, repeated side-steps, ball throw, endurance distance run, seated toe-touch, and sit-ups.
So eight fitness tests.
"The country still uses averages taken from results from students not using their Quirks, that is ridiculous in my opinion."
Aizawa then looks at Nion.
"Son, come here."
Nion followed the teacher's orders, and took a clipboard that Aizawa handed to him. Flipping through it, he noted that each page was his classmate's name, Quirk, and statistics for 8 total tests.
"You'll help measure their power level while the lot of you are to do the test with your maximum ability."
"Why don't we just use that, then?"
That being a decently large device installed in the gym near his dorm, which in his opinion became his gym since it was like a second home to him, with the ability to measure one's power level.
He still had no idea how Nezu even managed to cook up something like that, but it was pretty accurate too.
"It'll be a waste of time measuring all 20 people with that slow thing. Besides, you're more accurate than that machine, and I want exact measurements, down to the last decimal for maximum growth potential."
Ah, Nion nods in agreement. Seeing your power level grow was a nice thing, it motivates him to go higher too.
"Bakugo, you scored second place in the entrance exam, right? Throw this ball as hard as you can with your Quirk. Be creative."
Aizawa tossed a softball to the clone of Vegeta, Bakugo was his name he mentally noted. Bakugo caught the ball with ease, but continued glaring at Nion for some reason as he walked to the ball throwing zone.
Stretching his dominant hand, he looked at the sky before getting into a pitcher's stance. A second later, he went into the motion of throwing the ball.
"DIE!"
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
A deafening explosion erupted from his palm as the ball soared through the sky with a flame-like trail following the soon disappearing ball from the normal eye.
Nion had been measuring the power level of Bakugo before he threw the ball, and he was somewhat impressed.
This guy must have trained like crazy after the test, because his power level increased from 58 to 63. That was an increase of 6 PL, which takes him days with intensive training to get.
A few seconds later, the ball returns to the ground with no signs of damage as Aizawa showed them the result of the throw.
"First, know your own maximum. That's the most rational way to form the foundations of a hero."
705.2 meters, he jotted the PL and result down in the blank section in the ball throw category.
"705 meters, are you kidding me?"
"Woah, this looks fun!"
"We get to use our Quirks as much as we want, this is awesome!"
"As expected from the hero course!"
Nion felt a sudden chill as Aizawa's Ki suddenly rose. Uh oh, he could tell that Aizawa was getting real angry.
""It looks fun", huh?"
Aizawa gave the class a cold and calculative look.
"You have three years to become a hero. Will you have an attitude like that the whole time?"
The cold look changed into a sadistic grin as Aizawa announced his decision to the whole class.
"Alright then, if that's the case... Whoever comes in last place in all eight tests will be judged to have no potential, and will be punished with expulsion!"
"""HUH?!"""
Everyone starts to panic as Nion whistles. Yeah, he was not lying at all, he could feel that his Ki was as calm as a lake.
What a guy... Well, he should have expected this from the strongest staff member in the school.

The students complained about the unfairness for a moment before Aizawa settled them straight, causing them to be determined to not be the last.
That in turn raised their Ki slightly. It wasn't a full point of PL, but the raise was still something, so he noted down that they needed motivation to have the best result. What's weird to Nion was that he didn't have to do the tests.
"Why not though?"
Nion asked as the rest of his classmates were doing the 50-meter dash. Aizawa simply answered calmly with a few sentences.
"The gap between you and them are too large. The reason why I'm doing this is to show the invisible gap that the strong and weak have, so that they would be motivated to do better. If I add you to the mix, the whole balance is shifted too much, and I fear that their spirit would break at the realization."
Looking back at his classmates, Nion couldn't help but agree to that. Everyone here was near the same power level except for the powerful ones. But if he had to compare, the highest PL who was Todoroki with a PL of 65, compared to him was just... too much.
He felt a bit bad, not that he pitied them. This was because of his hard work, and a little bit of genetic modification truth be told, but this was the hand he was dealt with. No, he felt bad because he couldn't fight someone going all out, which was a shame.
Oh, well. He'll just keep intensifying his training until something comes along.
When one of the classmates, Sato if he remembered correctly, asked why Nion wasn't doing the tests, Aizawa explained that the staff had already tested him using data from his own gym, and does not need to be included in this one.
Didn't know they were watching him train, maybe he could bring in some other staff members along with his cardio? Sometimes training alone was just lonely, especially when one trains for almost 10 hours a day without any breaks.
Food for thought.
Eventually they got to the ball throw, and he has got to say, some of his future classmates were really amazing. Especially the one with the tail, he was the strongest physically, but he could see that he was a martial artist from the way he moves. Even with the Quirk of having an extra limb, his PL was sitting at 51.
But the weird one in his book was the Midoriya fellow. A power level of only 10, yet he was able to be in the class of 1-A? That was just weird. In the clipboard, his Quirk was Super Strength, yet he had never seen him use it once at all in the few tests that they had done.
Oh, it's his turn now...
VRUUUUUM!
A shiver went down his spine as a burst of Ki erupted from the body of the green-haired boy.
WOAH, HIS PL JUST ROSE DRASTICALLY! WHAT THE F**K?!
One moment the Ki in the boy's body rose 10 folds, and the next, it dropped back down to a PL of 10 with a foreign Ki signature restraining it. His eyes glanced at Aizawa, yep he was using his Quirk...
Jesus, what was that? That was like a Great Ape transformation, his Ki just shot up with an increase of 10 folds! He almost broke a sweat at the sudden spike, it caused a damn migraine... That was not good for his head.
Shaking his head to ease the pain, he quickly wrote this new discovery down as Aizawa dropped his Quirk after giving some rather harsh words to the boy. A few seconds later, the boy composed himself before getting into a thrower's stance.
VRUUUUUM!
Again! His Ki just spiked again, this time only increasing his PL to reach 60 instead of 100, but it was still a 50 PL increase!
"SMAAAAASH!"
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The throw itself generated so much wind pressure that it caused everyone to cover their faces, the ball disappearing into the sky in milliseconds. And then the Ki dropped back to its normal power level.
What the... Wait, his finger! Nion noticed that his whole arm was tremoring, with his index finger broken from the color of it. Ah, so that's why he didn't use that Quirk of his, it breaks his body most likely due to the weak constitution of his.
His body, it can't support the sheer power of his Quirk.
Midoriya turned around to looked at Aizawa, with a shaky smile on his face as he curled his hand with the broken finger into a fist.
"I... I can still move, sensei!"
Aizawa's grin could not get wider as he muttered to himself.
"This kid...!"
BOOM!
All of a sudden, Bakugo launches towards Midoriya who looked confused with his explosions propelling himself, his arm raised in an attempt to harm the kid. Not in his watch!
Raising his power level to match his speed, Nion flickered from his spot and reappeared in between Midoriya and Bakugo in a stance, shocking both classmates as he deflected the raised arm to the side and grabs onto Bakugo's jersey to stop him from harming Midoriya.
"Hey, that wasn't nice!"
"Y-You fucking bastard!"
Bakugo growled as small explosions lit his free hand that was heading towards his stomach, but in a flash, they all dissipated as Nion could feel Aizawa's Quirk in effect.
"Damn brat... Don't make me use my Quirk over and over again! I have dry eye, dammit!"
What a waste as well, Nion thought to himself as he let go of Bakugo's uniform, with the boy violently pulling his arm away. He gave one final glare at him, and then Midoriya, before walking back to stand near the class.
After that, nothing fascinating happened. The tests went on without a hitch, and the results came out with Midoriya in last place. The shock on the boy's face when Aizawa said that he lied about the expulsion was amusing, at least.
Looking at the clipboard in his hand, he made a quick decision to write down the PLs of his classmates in order.
1. Todoroki Shoto - PL 65
2. Bakugo Katsuki - PL 62
3. Tenya Iida - PL 51
4. Shoji Mezo - PL 51
5. Ojiro Mashirao - PL 50
6. Sato Rikido - PL 49
7. Kirishima Eijiro - PL 47
8. Tokoyami Fumikage - PL 39
9. Ashido Mina- PL 33
10. Yaoyorozu Momo - PL 33
11. Asui Tsuyu - PL 29
12. Uraraka Ochaco- PL 28
13. Sero Hanta- PL 28
14. Aoyama Yuga- PL 26
15. Kaminari Denki- PL 24
16. Jiro Kyoka- PL 22
17. Hagakure Toru- PL 21
18. Mineta Minoru- PL 14
19. Izuku Midoriya - PL 10
Handing Aizawa the clipboard back, he followed his classmates back to their class, looking towards the other Ki signature that he felt near the building who had already left.
He has so many questions, but the main ones are... What in the world was All Might even doing here? And why was the supposite number 1 hero's PL so low?
