Scavenging and hiding to stay alive, Jake's nightmares escalate until the inevitable occurs—he merges with the dragon, birthing a single, new entity. While his consciousness remains dominant, the fusion of primal instincts forever alters him. Now changed, Jake must figure out what he will do. Will he stay on the small island until all the prey runs out? Or will he set off into the sea and try to find his way back to his friends? Far away from were Jake is struggling, his best friend, Mason, confronts his own trials. Separated from the only brother he's ever known, he endeavors to forge a refuge amidst the growing threat of the Goblins. Unaware of Jake's transformation or perilous choice, Mason battles through treacherous jungles, his own nightmares growing more ominous by the day. Yet, unbeknownst to both, other forces are at play—former humans, now entities driven by selfless ambitions that have no interest in dragons.
