Devlog 43 (New Artstyle?)
Added 2022-08-04 04:21:14 +0000 UTCHey all. Here's Alice in the new artstyle. She was a tricky one to do, mostly because of all the characters in the original artstyle, I liked her design the most. I'm sure a few of you noticed some of this artstyle creeping into the game last update, including Alice in the movie theater. Guess you could say that was a sort of prototype, before I completely settled on her design.
Anyway, let me know what you guys think of the new artstyle, is it better, is it worse? I've seen some opinions saying both. Probably not gonna change what I'm gonna do, I've already mapped out a plan on that front, but still, I'd like to hear what you guys think. See ya

I sort of like the old style. Or perhaps it's just grown on me. The faces to me are a bit more distinct, and Ella has this really fitting creepy look to her. On the other hand the new style will probably appeal to more people, as others have also observed. The colors are definitely nicer. It does clash a little with the older art.

2022-08-04 15:22:59 +0000 UTCI originally loved your writing but didn't much care for the art style, but the longer I played the game the more it grew on me. It somehow fit the undertones of twisted, conscienceless chaos going on beneath the surface of the real world. The newer art style looks a lot more smooth and clean with a lot more attention to shading, but I can't say I prefer one over the other. The newer one will likely appeal to a broader audience so if that was the intention I think you're on the right track.

2022-08-04 12:51:53 +0000 UTCThe newer is better, i love the detail, are you ever gonna redo the sprites? Maybe for v1.00? I feel like it's jarring seeing the two clash. Especially with Emily. Felt like a whole new(beautiful) person. The only problem with this new artsyle is it seems to have an over reliance on bright neon-ish lighting(is this the new style of the game to make it feel more futuristic?). I thought Alice's eyes were glowing pink in this picture till I looked closer. I still prefer it and you have definitely improved alot so keep up the great work man
