The effigy she had Deryl made, her reasons for cultivating superhumans like Jake and the MC, it all seemed liked she was working towards a single goal, but her journal entry seems to imply that she didn't have to pick a fight with H.E.R.O but chose to because they wouldn't allow her to accomplish ALL her dreams if she worked with them.
